Location! Needs some work...
The location was terrific! The beach was less than s block away! The sunsets, clamming, just fun! Gold Beach is such a short drive! Easy access to 101 and so much exploring to do! The house itself, had a few issues, nothing major. Beds are comfy, kitchen VERY well stocked. Downstairs shower missing a knob. Leak under kitchen sink: the bucket under the sink let me know they already knew about the problem. Probably should have been disclosed before. There are a lot of ants... didn't see them on the counters, only floors. Again, they know as there are multiple ant traps throughout the home. Yes the windows are dirty, it's hard water stains. There are things they could try, but with such a short walk to the beach, come on people, get some steps in!

Disappointing Property
As soon as we opened the front door we were hit with a damp and moldy smell. It was very overwhelming and unhealthy to sleep in the downstairs bedroom. As a result of not being able to use the downstairs, we were all forced to use the upstairs for living and sleeping. Therefore, we were unable to use half of the property that I had paid for. It was very uncomfortable trying to sleep three adults in the remaining space. I had contacted Vacasa several times and got no satisfaction behind oh we’re so sorry and you must feel terrible. As a result my Family left three days early and I left one day early due to this disappointment. I really hope that someone from the Cousin management will Contact me.

Disappointed
We couldn't enjoy the sea view as we had hoped because the windows were very dirty. That was very disappointing as that is why we picked the Sand Crab. Also there were no instructions on how to use the heating system and turning on the3 tvs. Finally figured out 2 but the 3rd would not turn on. We ran out of hot water twice. The fireplace didn't work as it smoked up the livingroom. Not what we expected . I would not recommend this place to anyone .

You get what you pay for
At first glance, the property is great. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful views, close to the beach. Once you start to settle in its clear there is alot to be desired. The views is great, however the windows are so dirty on the outside when mixed with the moist marine air its almost impossible to see out of them. The cleanliness is superficial, the seating in the living room is dreadful, and supplies are minimal. While the app is great, quick response to issues via text, the local staff are slow in their responses (36 hrs before the addressed the refrigerator/freezer not working) and zero follow up. We will return to Gold Beach, its beautiful, however we will not stay at this property again.

Front Row Seats to Mother Nature
Loved our stay. Ended up making dinner in the well equipped kitchen, rather than going out to eat. We were treated to an epic thunder and lightning storm over the ocean that we will not soon forget. Front row seats to mother nature. Great view and a truly memorable weekend. We will be back next winter.

Gold Beach - Golden Nugget!
Jumped up the coast to Gold Beach and glad we did! We totally enjoyed every aspect this home offered. Super clean, well stocked, AMAZING Ocean view, quiet neighborhood, easy to find, and a trail to the beach down the street. Best way to start the New Year. Totally recommend.....thank you for our stay.

The home is in a great location for those wanting great views and proximity to the beach/ocean. The home was updated and for the most part clean. Lots of stairs so maybe not the best for elderly. Overal great stay!

A wonderful place to renew
Located with beautiful views of the ocean, this place is the perfect place to get away from the stressors of life to use the ocean to renew. Beach access was a short walk perfect for kids and adults alike! Place was clean even though the carpets have stains. Washing machine does not work even though the owners know about the problem, your clothes and towels will not be washed completely. Water leaks out the bottom of the machine and the spinning of the tub is so loud it will wake even the dead. Your clothes will still be soapy. This was my only complaint and still rather minor compared to the glory of watching the sunset and hearing the waves crash along the infinite ocean horizon. Will definitely revisit.

Horrible smell, incredibly dirty
The location of this home is beautiful, it is an absolute shame that it is filthy. The comforters and sheets were covered in dog hair, and reeked of pet smells. There are urine stains all over the carpets and the entire place smells so strongly of urine that we had to leave all windows and doors open at all times. There were pet stains on the sofa and chairs, the dishes in the cabinets were dirty, there was mildew/mold in the showers and shower curtain. We contacted the management company with our complaints and asking for a refund and never heard back. Can VRBO do anything to help us here?

would not stay here again
if you want to enjoy a wood burning fireplace do not stay here. The fireplace damper fell out of the stovepipe, stovepipe has holes rusted through the sides which is a fire hazard and the wood provided was covered in mold. The main reason we rented this home was to enjoy the fireplace. Very frustrating!

Great Location
Beautiful location, ocean view right from the living room and dining room! Very short walk to a beautiful beach! When you firt walk in the house a musty smell hits you. The carpets in the rooms were pretty gross. They could have been clean, they were just very stained. The couch looked dirty, I actually put a blanket over it. The beddings can be updated also. The kitchen was large and decent. Good supply of dishes though when we went to leave and I went to put dishes in the dishwasher it was full. I don't think the cleaning people had unloaded them? I hope the owners of the house will put a little money in the house and maybe clean it a little better . This could be a magnificent house with some work.

Mold
Garage is full of moldy firewood. The smell of mold is so strong, that it comes into the house from the garage door. Also, the washer smells like mold really bad. We did 10 loads of laundry with our own detergent, and every load came out smelling, and after it was dried, the clothes still smelled like mold. I would say the house is comfortable for max 4 people, not 8. Living room is cut in half by the staircase. Great view though. 5 stars on the view.

We probably won’t come back to this house
We had fun at the beach. The house was ok. The heaters don’t keep the house warm. We were cold the hole time we were at the house. The kitchen sink needs fixed. The house just needs some updating. The couch isn’t comfortable. Needs deep cleaning. The adds online make it seem you can walk across the street to the beach and you can’t. There is no path and you have to walk to the end of the road for beach access.

Cute house carpet could use cleaning there are some stains
No firewood but handyman arrived when we did to fix the front door that was sticking he offered to pick some up for us and he did which was VERY nice of him. Second night there the fire alarm woke us up at 230 am have no idea why it went off we had not burned a fire in the fireplace the second night perhaps the batteries are going out, overall though nice stay great views

Great location, vistas, and empty nearby windy beach
What a location. Really away from it all yet super close to town and nature. Two story property. Winding indoor staircase is bizarre; easier to use normal outdoor staircase around the back. Fabulous views and access to very breezy huge beach. Funky and unspoiled town just down the street. Nearby access to the best and least busy part of the entire Oregon coast and Oregon Coast Trail. Comfortable bed and shower. We stayed upstairs; just two of us. Full bedroom/bathroom downstairs. All actual living is done upstairs. Kitchen well equipped. Vacasa is the manager and their phone support is helpful. Put dishwasher on delay to run when you're out of the house because it knocks every second during the washing cycle. Spend your days in Samuel Boardman area just south of town. And visit the nearby Meyers Beach at low tide for the best sea creatures you've never seen! Important to visit the excellent local Arch Rock Brewery and also drink their beer (lager is my favorite) at Barnacle Bistro. Surprisingly good grocery stores in Gold Beach also.

Beautiful place, amazing location!!
We stayed here with our four kids and had the best time. Two of our children are younger, and they were able to navigate the staircase easily. (6 and 4 years old.) The kitchen is fabulous!! Spacious and updated. I cooked almost every single mailbox there. we walk to the beach several times. Don't even get me started about the tub downstairs...it was a dream!! I took advantage of it every chance I could. We loved having a real fire in a real fireplace every night. And, although it was cold, we sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the coast air. All of us had a great time and highly recommend this place!!

2nd stay here... still love it!
We love this house in Gold Beach. We try to visit south/coastal OR annually, mostly in the fall or for our xmas vacation. This house has everything we need. It's clean, easy to get to, and very open. Only upgrade would be a better sofa/seating (not very supportive, it's much softer than we like, and yes I realize that is a preference :)... We walked along the beach at least 2 times a day - SO close. It's a nice area of Gold Beach. Great shopping in Gold Beach with some lovely places to eat as well... our favorite is Barnacle Bistro, we always have at least 2 meals here :D

New, modern, well equipped, quiet, beach home with beautiful views on an incredible beach.
The home is modern, like new and is especially perfect for a couple wanting a peaceful, quiet, romantic get away steps from the beach. Beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets from the second floor front living and dining areas. The home is very modern, has tasteful artistic touches and high end finishes throughout. It is also thoughtfully stocked with pretty much everything one would need other than your own food and beverage. We greatly appreciated such a nice home allowing for our dog to join us... Thank you! The best comment I can give is: "We will most definitely be back!"

Mixed feelings
The location of the house is great. The view from upstairs is nice. We appreciated the nice bathrooms and the fluffy towels as well as the fully equipped kitchen. It would have been helpful to have been told to take luggage up the outside stairs on arrival. Negotiating the narrow and steep spiral stairs was difficult. There is no mention in the information book about beach access. Lighting in bedrooms is quite dim, especially upstairs. The tv remote in the living room needed batteries. In general the house is fine though the design is a bit odd in places. Definitely not a good choice for folks with mobility issues or small children because of the awkward spiral stairs.

House was nice, leasing office wasn't!
My family and I enjoyed our stay but that was after we had several (!!!) issues with the property management company. They were very hard to work with. They're cancelation policy was very strict and when I simply tried to change which credit card I was using to pay, thru told me that was impossible to do. I will never use this company again to rent a property!! If nothing goes wrong leading up to your vacation then you'll probably be fine, but if you have to change ANYTHING along the way, prepare yourself for a lot of heartache and unnecessary stress. I would never recommend Vacasa to anyone needing a rental property!!!

What a View!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this almost on the beach house! The bathrooms and kitchen have been updated with nice tile. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a good size. But my best memory is waking up in the morning, walking into the living room and seeing the unfiltered view of the ocean. There is a beach access down the street in the secluded neighborhood. Gold beach is close to Brookings where we enjoyed a great game of golf. We ate at Spinners Restaurant and had a great meal with great service! The only thing I would mention is that all living is on the upper floor (thus the great view) so the only way to get upstairs from the inside is a very narrow circular staircase. There is a straight staircase on the outside that was easier for us to use. This would definitely not deter us from renting this house again!

Relaxing time With Friend
My best friend from school years and I have really enjoyed the relaxing time we have had here in Gold Beach. This home is great with the only drawback the stairs for us "old" ladies! The view and the sunsets have renewed our spirits. The kitchen is probably the best equipped in any home I have rented, and we didn't use it because we enjoyed eating out! The area is quiet and the home was very clean. Bed I used upstairs was very comfy, and my friend said the one down was also. Great vacation spot!

Beautiful, NEW home with breathtaking ocean views
We had an amazing stay at the Sand Crab. Everything inside the house was beautiful, updated and very clean. We loved the home's open floor plan and the killer views from all angles. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. We felt safe at all times. You rarely see other people on the beach which was refreshing for us city people. There are a couple of beach access points from the neighborhood and we were able to take a long walk to Otter Point State Recreation area from the house. In addition there are many great trails and hikes in the area. We were told at the visitor center that ALL of the beaches are dog friendly too. This was a dog's dream vacation. We loved being able to bring our pup along. :) We would definitely come back!

Bug bites!
Nice home with ocean views for now (house being built in front of view).House has all things need for short term stay.MY big complaint is that I ended up with bug bites sleeping in master bedroom. I have reported problem to Vacasa with little care of my issue. Good luck on your stay.

We are sorry to see that this guest left the home with some sort of bites on their person. The home has been thoroughly inspected by our team and a pest control company and no bed bugs were found. All linens and bedding have been replaced as a precaution.
