Bird of paradise, shooting

Bird of Paradise Beachfront Cottages can show you a new way to vacation. We bring the amenities of home to your own private beachfront oasis. Enjoy sleeping on one of two king size beds and lifting your head up to see pristine ocean staring back at you. Cook your own meals in our fully stocked kitchen including electric range, numerous utensils, and cookwares as well as full size washer and dryer. You can even choose where to bath, either inside or alfresco in the ocean side shower. If you've had to much sun and the air conditioning is more your speed feel free to lounge on the couch and watch some TV on our flat screen. Cool off in the private splash pool while staring out to find the cruise ships as they slowly pass by in the distance. Staying at The Shooting Star means you enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and world famous pink sand beach by day and outrageous sunsets and star gazing by night.

**Keep in mind that our neighbors Tippy's close for a period of time in September and October. Please call them for details. Tippy's is also next door to our Purple Papaya cottage, therefore you may hear some island vibes and tunes while outside, (this is of course out of our control).**

**Please also keep in mind that Eleuthera is a secluded island, therefore at times the island may shut off the water, as well as internet or electricity. Water pressure can be low as well, but this is all due to being on a secluded island, so please be patient with us. Any of this issues will not result in the guest getting compensated since this is out of our control**

Shooting Star Amazing

Absolutely fantastic property on the beach with a small pool. All modern amenities. Fabulous property manager. Look bed walking for miles on sandy beaches and walking next door to Tippy’s for great food, drinks and music. An absolutely fantastic place to stay. We will be back.

Beautiful Stay at Shooting Star!

This property was perfect for our family of four! The girls loved the small swimming pool on the back patio and super easy assess to the beach. The house was very clean and well stocked for preparing meals, which we did several times, and had plenty of bath and beach towels for our use. It is also very close to many restaurant options if you prefer eating out. It was an amazing stay overall!

Beautiful location and beach but pool only worked 1 day out of 6. Also town is very remote and not many options for dining or groceries. Internet and TV went out often. Must buy bottled water by gallon. Rental car agency referred to us offered a 2012 Jeep Liberty with every warning light on. Luckily it didn’t break down on us and did have ac. We enjoyed our stay but listing the concerning issues we wish we had known in advance.

Nice spot

Our first trip to the Bahamas. It was great! And this was a great house. Nice to go back and forth from the pool to the ocean depending on the mood. Quiet and clean beach. We did lose water the last day but part of the island life.

Oceanfront doesn't get any better!

House was great for 2 adult couples. Plenty of gathering space and full masters with en suites. House was well-appointed from beach chairs, to a portable cooler, and even an ironing board which was important because we were attending a wedding! Location was 10/10.

Perfect Getaway

The house was just perfect for what we were looking for! I think the only thing closer to the beach is getting on a boat! The property itself was well equipped, clean and looked like the images. The location was perfect for us as well. I am sure there are busier times, but our first couple of days, were saw maybe 10 people walking on the beach. It got a little busier, but our experience was the quiet we were looking for. Tippy’s restaurant was a 30 second walk away and we ate there several times and have no complaints there either. Tarictia is the property manager and stopped in when we arrived to show us a few things to know. She was very warm and welcoming. We didn’t have any issues with power because they now have their generator. We couldn’t use WiFi for a little while, but who cares when you have beautiful water to mesmerize you!

Perfect spot ~ Great rental

This was our first time to Eleuthera and we all agreed that we chose the right spot for us. The beach is the prettiest one we visited. We kept taking time to visit other beaches and then regret it a bit because this beach is wanting for nothing. Just an absolutely gorgeous blue water, white sand location. Having Tippy's right there is a plus. The rental is not too far from Island Farm for fresh food, Governors Harbor where you'll find the Buccaneer Club, The Frigate, Bacchus Fine Foods, Da Perk, Burrows grocery - just everything one needs is not far. We did not cook very much but everything is on hand if you decide to. The beds are comfortable, the decor is adorable, the water must be rain water because it is lovely, and we were able to watch sports (I didn't realize we'd have cable) so my family was happy to catch playoff football. The house if I had to put it a few words is cute, comfortable, & convenient. There were the typical few moments where we were reminded that island life is out there on the edge of civilization so we had a power interruption, we lost internet a few times and water one time (something needed to be reset) but all of this is just a fact of life. None were long term or big issues and I wouldn't say it really affected our stay. We will be back. We enjoyed our stay that much. If you're looking to rest, relax, and recharge your batteries you could do much worse than this. The owner & property manager are super accessible and helpful.

Pics don’t do this property justice!

Shooting Star is truly a great vacation rental — very clean, and bright, with all the needed amenities, and the perfect beachfront location to boot. We enjoyed the beach immensely, it’s gorgeous, and hopped over to Tippys several times throughout our stay, which was so convenient! Get a Bahama Mama, you won’t regret it! The owners are very nice, super responsive, and so easy to work with. You can tell they love the island of Eleuthera and love this property, as did we! Plus, Taracita is by far one of the best property managers out there, so sweet and helpful! Downstairs bathroom was a plus, in addition to each room upstairs having its own bathroom as well. Perfect location for 2 couples, or larger family. We loved every minute in this rental and are already talking about a return trip! Shooting Star is hands down a great property!!!

Great Location

Great modern house with amazing view. The only way you could be closer to the ocean is if you were in it! Beds were very comfortable and it was great that there were beach chairs and snorkeling equipment to bring on our daily adventures. Caretaker is lovely and available for anything you might need.

Perfect place for 4! We enjoyed being close to Tippy's - great food and the live bands typically stopped by 9:30pm. Wish there was a grill so we could cook out and could've used some sheet pans. Other than that it was well stocked. Everyone is so friendly and the island was amazing!

Perfect Getaway!

We loved our time at Shooting start - absolutely stunning location and perfectly situated for island exploring. It was extremely windy during our trip so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space as much, but sitting in the living room, music playing and the sliders wide open, every morning was amazing. The house was well appointed and very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We didn't realize that the you needed to bring in all of your own drinking water and Tarictia came by and let us borrow a jug of hers that we were able to fill up at the grocery store. The only things I wish the house included would be a water jug base of some sort to put the 5 gallon jugs in to make them easier to maneuver and a cooler. We were thankful to have chairs and umbrellas but definitely bring your own cooler so you have something for the beach. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Bird of Paradise vs Bahamas

The property is beautiful in every respect. It is right on the Atlantic ocean. Nice and clean. Great surroundings. Beautiful. Now, this is no-one's fault but we had a big storm on the day prior to the departure. Wind gusting to 40 mph with strong rain. It was very scary on Jan 11, 2022. Forced by the strong wind the water was coming through the locked doors. Now this is not their hurricane season and I am not blaming anyone. House is well built. I won't vacation in Bahamas but if I decide to go back to Bahamas, I will have no trouble going back to the same place.
