The host was responsive and helpful. The unit is on the second floor of a historic building housing residential and commercial units. The 1st floor is largely taken up by a bar and restaurant. Apparently the bar’s walk in cooler is directly underneath the unit. The walk in cooler’s metal door slams on a frequency matched to that of the bar’s activity. On a business day that door starts slamming around 6-7am and continues throughout the day and night. The door slam, which was as frequent as every few minutes for hours on end in the evenings, when the bar and restaurant are very busy, to every 10-30 minutes or so throughout the day. It is loud, startling and shakes the apartment every time it slams. Some people may not be bothered by that but we were. Also, there was constant loud music playing from down below for most of every evening and you cannhere the partying quite clearly. I like music as much as anyone but don’t need it forced on me for hours. Again, some may not care about that but it wasn’t great for us. Interior of unit is clean and nice, just know that this building was constructed in 1892, so the walls are thin for sound and insulation, and the layout and access are a bit convoluted.
Location is good for downtown.
