Outdated and not clean. We booked a lakeside room a month in advance and upon arrival the staff said they didn’t have a lakeview room and they this was a mistake on Expedia’s end. I asked to be refunded for the room price difference and is all I was given was a small discount

Positive: It is right on Lake Superior in downtown Grand Marais. It has a great deck on the lake. Very peaceful. Negative: there was no AC, so windows open on 2nd floor which would have been okay, but there was a way for people to get on the adjacent roof, and I couldn't rest thinking about that possibility, so closed the windows. One window had no latch. There were no "safety" latches on the windows that would let them be partially open. There was trash behind both nightstands, hair in the sink drain catch, hair on the bathroom door.

This motel is old and run down. $185.00 Is way too much for a $79.00 room. The only reason they stay booked is because every other place is full. We crossed it off our list.

The room was clean, staff were very nice, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was very good . Parking is adequate. We like that it’s right on the lakefront and in town and stores are walkable. Everyone we met/talked to were friendly and gave useful information as it’s our first time in this area, wish we could stay more than a night!

The staff is the best. Evidently weather over the winter damaged a lot of things and the rooms I’ve stayed in aren’t what I’ve been used to when spending $200+/night. However, the staff and the location are the best. If you’re like me, you’re not spending your time in your room anyway when you visit Grand Marais.

The Shoreline Inn needs a full renovation! It looks like it was last decorated in 1982! The fan in the bathroom was SUPER loud, and the lights in the room and halls were terrible. The staff was nice, but we will NOT be back unless they do a full remodel!

Beds creaked. Beds kind of uncomfortable. Not their fault but seagulls were incredibly loud and kept us up at times. Seemed out dated style wise. Was central so that was great. Had onsite parking which was great.

It was comfortable enough. It looked like some improvements were happening. It is somewhat dated which is not a problem but our room really smelled like cat urine. Location was fantastic. It could use a sprucing up but everyone was nice and the views were amazing.
