The house il Bracconiere, part of an old typical Tuscany farmhouse, which origin has been dated in the XIII Century, has been restored in recent time, with the aim to accommodate our guest in comfort and charm, with a touch of History

The original building has been used, in origin, as a watch tower, located in strategic position to secure the passage from Valdarno to Florence.
Il Bracconiere has three levels.
The kitchen and dining are located at the lower level.
A French door opens to a private cozy courtyard, where you enjoy a great view of the garden and the valley, till Florence and the Appennine.
You use 10 steps to get at the mezzanine level, where is the sitting room with a double sofa and two armchairs, working desk, TV.
At the same level there is a bedroom with 2 large single beds, completed with a walk-in cupboard
A nice bathroom with a large shower.

Upstairs the master bedroom with king size bed and a cozy room with a comfortable double bed.
A full bathroom with shower and bidet.
The house is leading to a large garden, with a great look towards the valley.
A great variety off of aromatic plants, lavender, mint, sage, roses, fruit trees .....
The swimming pool is only 25 m. away.
To get at the property you have to drive for about 800 m. of dirt road.
In Tuscany Countryside the majority of road are the same.
The Council of Greve in Chianti, does not let to change anything from the origin situation.
The mean reason is to keep the landscape as used to be in the past, to have a feeling of a real Tuscany Countryside.
The house is very close to supermarkets, bars, restaurants, chemist shop, coffee shops.....interesting wine area where it is recommended to have a nice tour in the nearby wine cellar to enjoy a great test of the best Chianti.
The distance to Florence is about 20 km, the gate of the Autostrada only 16 km.
From il Bracconiere you can visit the most important historical towns like Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo.....
It is possible to organize cooking lessons, for a minimum of four persons

Blick bis nach Florenz

Sehr schöne Lage, man sieht bis nach Florenz hinab. Netter Pool. Schönes Haus. Sehr nette Vermieterin, die erstklassiges Englisch spricht. Ruhiger geht es nicht. Ein paar Liegestühle mehr wären ganz praktisch. Alles in allem ein guter Aufenthaltsort.

A family summer holiday in a quiet, rural and rustic setting

The property is perfect for those wanting a quiet, remote break in a rural and rustic setting. It is very quiet, surrounded by nature and with beautiful views down the valley towards Firenze. If you are quiet then you might see wild boar and deer near the property. The property itself is wonderfully rustic, lots of exposed beams and brickwork with stunning views over the countryside. Note that there is no air conditioning, but our property had a fan for each bedroom. The pool also has beautiful views over the countryside and provides a calm oasis from busy everyday life. Stefania, the host, lives in one section of the property. She is very friendly and welcoming and a great host. She loves the property and the surroundings. Be aware that the property is about 1/2 km down a typical Italian white road. Confident drivers will have no problem with the rough terrain, though less confident drivers might find it a challenge to navigate some sections. Also, you might not want to take a sports car down the white road! All in all, a lovely property and we would have no hesitation recommending it to others wanting a quiet, rural and rustic holiday.

One to avoid

This was misleadingly advertised as a house when in fact it is one of four rental apartments in the building, plus the owner's home. We chose it because we wanted isolation - in fact the garden and pool are shared, not what we paid for, and the owner was often entertaining guests. She told us on arrival that there was no hot water in one of the two showers - not good for a party of five - and that the dishwasher was broken: in a drawn-out saga of failed repairs, it worked three times in three weeks and stopped. The internet was down half the time - not good as I was working for one of the three weeks and it was hard to plan excursions etc. The owner was friendly and chatty throughout, but her attitude was "What can I do?" She behaved more like an indulgent host than a business owner taking our money for services she could not provide. We discussed a refund, which she said would be up to HomeAway. HomeAway has not responded to our complaint within its own deadline and, now that we are at a distance, the owner has changed her story and threatened to bill us for repair or replacement of the dishwasher. Altogether, not a happy experience.
