Very close to the cruise terminal where our sailing race stopped. Excellent service and great food options on site and within walking distance. I will be back in high season to enjoy the area more

Purchased superior king size bedroom and it was nothing but SUPERIOR. The room had very bad odor and we kept spraying air freshener every day. The noisy was coming from different tour groups coming and going every day. No VIEW, room was facing a second tower of Wyndham hotel.

I wanted to like this place so bad. This was supposed to be the luxury stay for my solo trip. The facility is very dated. The rooms smelled like mold and it was very hard to sleep. Only one restaurant was open. I ended up canceling my stay after one night and felt so terrible for it. The staff is some of the friendliest, most helpful and respectful staff. 10/10 for the staff!

The hotel was very clean and air conditioned. The same applied to the room, which was very spacious and comfortable. However, the price of the food and drink services (e.g. the breakfast buffet) was much higher than any of the nearby places. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel but eating somewhere else.

The worst property that I stayed during my 2 week Vietnam trip, worst than a 3 star. The AC was turned down during the night, and was too hot. The food was not tasty. This hotel is in par with all Wyndham scams. Would never stay at a Wyndham ever again.

Great option as a location - Superb Views
The hotel was chosen as a base to see Halong Bay over a 3 day visit. Its location is excellent. With a sea view you could see all local landmarks and the islands in the bay. The hotel arranged a day tour of the bay and transfers back to hanoi. Dinner and Breakfast options were good although in the off season it is very quiet. My only small negative is it is slightly dated and does need some modernisation but this did not detract from a lovely stay.

The hotel Staff were amazingly friendly … it was the start of the low season but, on the 24th December they had a Christmas party for locals which took over the only restaurant, the others were closed due to off season whilst this make sense it wasn’t advised in Ada Vance (not one the begrudge others fun) but, don’t operate a hotel when no amenities are available - after a bit of arguing I managed to get food but, ate in my room. I would call it room service but that wasn’t operating. I tried to order online externally 4 times but was cancelled al times and little choice. Pool bar closed (pool was dirty and not attended to) as we’re all the other restaurants / facilities. The mini bar in the room has been taken away and left with a tiny bottle of gin and whiskey .. I tried to indulge in the gin after a long journey there on my first day but, no mixers soo had to persuade one of the restaurant workers to sell me some lemonade as reception said there was nothing they could do— as it was past 11pm most things were closed when I arrived. I do think the hotel need to decide if to open or not I their winter season .. it could be amazing but, sadly nothing like the 5 star I was expecting ! Due to lack of local amenities / shops/ restaurants I strongly urge to hotel to look to reinstate the mini bar if they are to stay open (I don’t buy it was took away due to Covid- this conflicts with the notice in the room “guest like to use fridge for other items “)

I went into the low season and couldnt go outside to walk because it was too dangerous. I went only in front of the hotel and witness someone getting mugged. The staff at the hotel wasnt very concerned about security and the room was smelling very very bad. The food made me sick, twice. I wouldnt never go back to this hotel ever.

The reception was fabulous. The lady upgraded us immediaely when they realized they gave us the wrong room. Really good service. The room was magnificent. Great view of the famous colorful Bridge and sun wheel. Looked so beautiful at night. The suite was spacious and had all the facilities. Room service was fast and exceptional. Really loved this property.

What a room!
After a lousy start (my booking couldn’t be found) things picked up. Was upgraded (due to the issue) and quite frankly stayed in a jaw-dropping. The room was enormous, was very well kept, had sensational views and I was SOLD. Minor glitches (like phone not working) didn’t matter. I just stared into the view :)

Amazing views and huge room! Love the bathtub and balcony! Only negatives are, 1. a mild stale smell (disappears after turning on AC) 2. AC has controlled temp (can’t go lower than 22 Celsius) Would def stay here when we return.

Upon arrival, we were taken to our hotel room and were immediately hit with an overwhelming damp smell. We then realised that a large proportion of the bedroom walls were covered with mould which is obviously unsafe to sleep in. The staff apologised and took us to another room which still had a damp smell. After inspecting the second room, we found more mould covering the walls. We informed the staff of this again and they eventually moved us to the presidential suite which was fine (I am guessing this is one of the only rooms in the hotel which is free of mould). We chose to pay for the buffet breakfast the next morning at the hotel and were informed that the total price for two of us was around £15. We then double checked this with the member of staff and they agreed. After we had eaten the breakfast, we were charged £30 by another member of staff. We explained to them that this was not the price we were quoted but staff just kept repeating that we needed to pay it. After standing our ground, they eventually said we could pay the £15 and they would cover the rest. The staff were rude and clearly not interested in keeping our custom again in future. Given all that had gone wrong during our one-night stay, I would have expected more from a 4.5 star hotel. After reading the other poor reviews on this website, I’m hoping to not get the same generic response from the hotel that was given to everyone else.

Treated like a thief. required up front payment and wanted 3 million VND deposit. Fridge in room hot told they are all the same. Aircon room does not go below 22. Would not accept charge to room at restaurant. Would not accept my new USD100 bill as it had a money changer extremely small stamp on it. Never had a problem before. Loud Chinese everywhere smoking yelling. Very expensive F&B.

We stayed here for our 1-year wedding anniversary and the hotel was incredible. Great swimming pool and restaurant on the ground floor. If you like a bit of spice, I’d recommend the Malay chicken curry. Overall, a great place to stay and the staff spoke very good English.

Comfy beds. Blackout curtains. Lovely restaurant and reception staff. Great views from communal areas. Large variety of food at buffet (Asian and Western). Pho, sushi, bimbimbap, eggs, bacon, pastries etc. Booked a great day cruise for us. 2km to bottom cable car station (Sun world complex). For the fussy traveller: Powerpoints temperamental (difficult to charge phone, use hair dryer etc). Fridge overheated in cupboard. Needed to keep doors open for fridge to work. Isolated location. Ghost town feel, not much open. More being constructed. Western style hotel jam packed with noisy tour groups. Carpets stained in places. Musty smell in rooms. Grout in bathroom and drink coasters mouldy. 2-7km taxi ride from anything. Even then, just a few restaurants/massage places for tourists. Sun world complex is a western and Japanese fusion that is not worth the money. No Japanese restaurants were open in low season at the top mountain (sun station) despite being charged full price and having to queue with tour groups for cable car and Ferris wheel). Buffet breakfast food fresher from 6am. Some things are dried out by 8am if not favourites/replenished. Please consider providing pure drinking water from a refillable station to avoid excess plastic consumption/waste. Google refill my bottle. Only one refillable fountain in gym (I was told not to use). Check out delayed because housekeeping must have missed a mini bar item being opened from last guest. Not impressed.

This hotel is awesome. A typhoon came through during my stay, but with so many restaurants, the beautiful views, and a casino there was plenty to do while I waited out the storm.

As the name suggests - A legendary place to stay.
Wyndham Legend was recommended to us by friends as being quite luxurious, providing rooms with wonderful views, well situated in Halong and with warm and welcoming staff. These were just some of the reasons we chose this hotel for our family holiday in Halong and it truly lived up to our expectations.
