"The place was as advertised--certainly old, but clean and well-maintained. Would not hesitate to stay here again.This section of Weke was busier than expected and the neighbors two doors to the East have a yappy ankle-biter that would go off predictably at 7 pm and 9 pm. Then quiet.Ray was great to work with. We'll be back...in spite of the yappy dog. Aloha and mahalo"
"Excellent aesthetics, but the staff could be more knowledgeable and onsite reservations booked very quickly, we should have booked before our arrival or they should make special accommodations for guests staying at the hotel. The layout of the hotel was a bit odd and confusing, getting to the beach was a little challenging, but overall beautiful hotel and excellent location on Kauai. Would stay again."
"The property is perfect for large families! House was just as advertised and plenty of room with beach towels and chairs. We were right across the street from the beach/beach access and it was amazing!Would definitely recommend this property for large families."

"Aunty Lydia’s Local was absolutely perfect for our family group - my husband and I and our two adult children and partner. We loved the space, location, and authentic old-school Hawaiian cottage feel. If you want to live like a local in Hanalei, this property is a great choice. We would book again without hesitation. "

"The house and neighboring houses are very pretty, feel very Hawaiian. Unobstructed ocean/beach view across front lawn. Looking back to house from lawn opens up to gorgeous view of green jungly mountains. Living room and tropical furniture felt cozy when it rained. North coast is nice with small towns, small roads, less developed beaches. We stayed with our 2 adult kids which was a bit of a squeeze. They shared a room, and we all shared the bath. But the overall experience made the tightness well worth it. Would stay again."
