Cozy Get-Away

We had an amazing 2 weeks at Hen Stable! We loved the beautiful garden and cozy living area! You definitely need a car, but we did go on nice walks from the cottage. Gary was so kind and helpful! …always available for questions.We had dinner at the Victoria Inn in Harlech…delicious! We hope to visit again!

Christmas stay

We had an amazing stay for Christmas, the cottage was beautifully decorated with Christmas music playing on our arrival. It had everything we needed for a family of four and is in a beautiful location for beach and hill walk, and Gary was on hand of we needed anything We would definitely visit again.

Brilliant base for North Wales adventuring

We stayed for a week over the Easter school holidays and had a really wonderful time. The property was exactly as pictured and featured everything needed for a really relaxing stay. We enjoyed warm evenings by the fire and slept very well in the comfortable beds. It's the perfect bolthole after a day out in the countryside.

First family holiday…

Lovely property to stay at with a large back garden for the kids to run around in. Good location in terms of access to beaches and other places, such as Portmeirion and Porthmadog. Gary was an excellent host and was always at hand if we needed anything. Would definitely stay in this accommodation and location again.

As stated in other reviews already, this cottage is absolutely beautiful and very well equipped. The location allows for easy access to the region, be it gorgeous beaches or the mountains. We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can gladly confirm that Gary has succeeded in creating a home from home. We hope to return.

Delightful Holiday

We had a fantastic time in this cottage, it was a great base to explore the surrounding areas. Checking in was very easy, the property was very well maintained to a high standard. Furnishings were of great quality. We were warm and cosy especially with the wood burner. We will definitely be returning to this cottage. Great communication with the property owner.

Gary is an amazing host! His dogs Harry and Dolly were so fun! The interior design of the cottage was stellar. Everything you need. We had never been to Wales and are very glad we picked this place to explore snowdonia! You won't be disappointed!

Perfect Little Property

Hen Stabl is the quintessential HomeAway (from home) property. Comfortable and cosy, the whole cottage makes you feel at home the moment you step through the door. Impeccably decorated, with a far more than fully equipped kitchen with far from basic crockery and appliances! It is clear every single aspect of the cottage has been put together to ensure your stay is the absolute best it could possibly be. Harlech a decent walk away and footpaths close by leading to the beaches. I cannot fault our stay in any possible way. Off home to update my own crockery to the standard of Hen Stabl!

Amazing location and beautiful property & grounds

The cottage itself is well presented and had everything in it we needed. The décor is well-fitting for the style of property and has a lovely relaxing feel to it. Lovely and clean, and owners were very welcoming. The grounds offer different areas to sit in and we enjoyed a couple of evenings eating/relaxing outside. This cottage is located in a very beautiful small village and is within easy walking distance of Harlech. The footpath that is almost opposite takes you down across fields to the beach within approx. 15-20 minutes, or 2-3 mins by car via the road. Several of the other roads lead to footpaths that take you up into the hills behind.We will definitely be back to stay there again.

A Gem Of A Cottage!

What a great 5 star cottage in a fantastic location. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, superbly equipped with very comfortable beds. It is in a very quiet setting with views to the sea, and an easy 10 minute walk to it too! The kitchen is excellent...equipped with more than you would ever need, including Ted Baker tea pot and mugs! We loved the “proper” sized wine glasses! Gary has added extra touches...hand wash, washing up stuff...but even better..tea, coffee, hot chocolate, welsh cakes.....and a little jar of sweets! Easy parking outside. Very short drive to Harlech, or a leisurely stroll, uphill, of about 15 mins...the castle there is fab, and a good smattering of tea shops and restaurants. For the fun loving it is about 25 min drive to the Slate Caverns and Bounce Below, and the same also to Portmeirion....much nicer to stay here than closer to the slate caverns as far quieter, and much, much prettier! About 35 min easy drive to Rhydd Ddu were we started our ascent of Snowdon. Communication pre arrival was excellent and check in/ out very easy.I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this cottage and would definitely stay there again. Thank you Gary for a wonderful stay!

Ein wunderbares Cottage - stilvoll eingerichtet, mit voll eingerichteter Küche, großem Wohnzimmer-Küchenbereich, schönem Bad, bequemen Betten und einem großen Gemeinschaftsgarten mit mehreren Sitzecken. Auch kann man das Meer sehen! Der Check-in ist unkompliziert und die Vermieter sind überaus freundlich. Der Ort hat einen Laden, in dem wir alle Dinge für unseren Urlaub benötigten. Hen Stabl ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Little gem

Beautiful presented property with lovely landscape gardens with lots of seating areas which the owner allows you to use . Immaculate inside with lovely decor and furnishings. Good location with Harlech only 4 minutes away in the car and a nice pub a few minutes away . (The Victoria inn ) . Will definitely return and stop here again . Gary the host was full of knowledge of the area and very helpful .

We had such a lovely stay at Hen Stabl. The location was perfect—peaceful and tucked away, but still really close to the beach, towns, restaurants, and plenty of things to do. Our hosts were so friendly and full of interesting stories about the history of the place—we could’ve chatted all day! We’d definitely recommend staying here and will 100% be booking again.
