Charming Country Retreat in the South Downs National Park
Tucked away at the end of a long private drive and nestled within 400 acres of picturesque farmland, this unique and characterful home offers a peaceful escape in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
The Space
This quirky, centuries-old property is brimming with charm—from exposed wooden beams to cozy log burners. You’ll enter through a private gate into a fully fenced garden, leading to a small boot room (with an extra fridge) and then into a well-equipped country kitchen.
Off the kitchen, a staircase leads to a cozy bedroom with an en-suite shower and toilet. From the kitchen, step into a welcoming dining room with a log burner—perfect for intimate meals. Beyond is a study area with a second set of stairs, a downstairs toilet, and a spacious living room with another wood-burning stove (logs provided).
Up the main staircase, you’ll find a family bathroom (mind your head on the beams!), two double bedrooms, and a small single room. A final flight of narrow, quirky stairs leads to a top-floor double bedroom with a central beam that adds to the home's rustic charm.
The Garden & Grounds
Enjoy a peaceful, private garden enclosed by fencing, with a gate leading to a lovely orchard filled with apple and plum trees—feel free to pick and enjoy in season!

Guests have full access to the entire home and grounds. The primary entrance is through the garden and boot room into the kitchen, though a traditional front porch is also available (though rarely used).
