「The location of the cottage is excellent, right next to the river Esk and on a very quiet holiday park (in April anyway). There is an amazing viaduct over the river where there is bungy jumping every couple of weeks during the summer and you can walk over it into Whitby which is only 30 mins away on foot. 「We stayed in room 347 right next to a security office and they banged the door all night and early morning. Little to no sleep. We then paid for late checkout and there was a fire alarm going off at 11. Absolute Fawlty Towers of a place. Definitely won’t be coming back. The breakfast wasn’t too bad and most of the staff we met were nice too. The place needs a revamp and please stop banging doors!!」

「Grand Hotel needing a Grand Redecorate! The condition of the hotel was extremely poor, which is a shame when you think it would have been top end when the hotel first opened. Very obvious that any work that had been carried out was done on the cheap and to an extremely poor standard. The light inside the room did not work, only the bathroom light. It was pitch black and luckily I did not trip over anything when going to bed. Got told there was nothing they could do until the maintenance man came...
