Excellent Choice for Short Stay
This hotel has a great location at right next to Tikkurila railway station where you can catch a local train to Helsinki airport (about 10 mins journey) and to central Helsinki (about 15 - 20 mins journey). I had an extremely spacious room even though I had a booked a 'basic' single occupancy. My room was super clean and had all amenities you could wish for; a kettle for coffee / tea, a free bottle of wine, a minibar (charged), bathrobe and slippers and plenty of goodies in a bathroom. There is a restaurant as well as a pub right off the main reception and also a night club with live music played on Saturday evenings. It's live music and can be heard in bedrooms. Service at the front reception as well as restaurants were friendly as efficient (as you would expect in Finland). I would warmly recommend Sokos Hotel Vantaa for a short stay in Helsinki area.

Very convenient, right by Tikurilla station. The decor was a bit dated but clean throughout, lovely breakfast, helpful staff, good sauna! Unfortunately you need to pay for car parking separately.

Not worth it.
Serious levels of dust on the furniture, especially on the TV furniture. Really poor level of cleaning. Stayed there for 2 nights, my room was not cleaned during my stay - because of Covid19 they claimed. Fail to see how that should keep anyone safer. And there was no information about this, only found out when I called them. For wake-up calls I had to call the reception +5 times both evenings before anyone picked up the phone. I am not going to stay there again.

A great choice if you are in Vantaa
If you are on this side of town, then Sokos is a good choice. While the room isn't huge, it's clean, on the newer side and the staff was friendly and accomodating. The break fast was a treat, and though it wasn't cook to order, it was well stocked with a variety of fresh fruits and fixings.

Good location and comfortable.
Location was an easy train trip from the airport after a long travel. Check-in was easy and friendly. Room was nice and comfortable, location was walkable and safe and the bar downstairs was clearly a destination on a weekend night.

Great location close to the Tikkurila train station and also close to the airport, just a few steps away from the Vantaa city museum and Heureka Science museum. Breakfast buffet is excellent, with lots of different offerings.

Great location for train to Tampere
The hotel was recommended for its proximity to the railway station which has great links to all of Finland. The hotel was comfortable but the Wi-fi was a bit flakey. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful

A functioning hotel. Room was basic but had all I needed and was clean enough. Shower arrangement not to my liking but a personal preference not an issue

Very convenient
It was very convenient as I was there for business and the event I was attending was at the Vernissa Culture Centre just 150m away. The breakfast buffet was nice and with a variety of food (fruit, cereal, bread, eggs, sweet pasties, coffee, tea....) wifi worked well, room was big enough and bathroom too. The food from the Mexican restaurant Amarillo was nice and I also went to the pub and even had a karaoke night. It was a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful providing directions and train times.

Have been staying at this hotel on business for a number of years Good location near airport with train station 100mtrs away However it has not changed in all the years I have been visiting and looking tired Same breakfast, same restaurant with same menu As a business customer I normally add food and drinks to my bill and pay at end . They have now introduced that drinks need to be paid straight away So my food bill gets added to my bill but the drink I had accompanying my meal had to be paid separately Staff are always very nice

Quick visit in Helsinki

Truly old and tired interiors and ghastly meat grill restaurant. Rooms are spartan and feel run down. Honestly don't know how this hotel has maintained a '4 star' rating.

Lovely central hotel close to the airport.
Great staff, room was clean and we'll presented. The included breakfast was incredible. High quality food with lots of variety. Travelling with my dog was also a breeze with a welcome bag of treats and waste bags. Great hotel!

One of the best of a very average bunch locally
Having stayed in most of the hotels in the Vantaa area, this place highlights how poor most of them are to be honest, there's nothing homely about any of them compared with their UK counterparts. I struggle to pinpoint what's so unpleasant about them all. There's an unpleasant ambient odour in all the rooms in all the hotels, i'm not unconvinced it's the laundry, bedsheets, towels etc, the aroma from a little fabric conditioner wouldn't go amiss, there's no carpet in any of the rooms, it all adds up. Anyway, this hotel, the staff are first class, the rooms do differ with each other, I have stayed in rooms with and without a fridge for example, some require key card to switch lights on, the Wi-fi is good, the showers give you a good soaking at the same temperature, the morning coffee tastes like coffee should but those damned trains are such a nuisance.

Having stayed at almost all hotels in Vantaa, I think this one is now my favourite but by no means ideal. It was very warm in the room, there's no way of cooling it down besides opening the window. The trains run every few seconds at certain times of the day!

Noisy and little sleep.
The music from the hotel bar was very loud and could be heard in the room making it difficult to sleep; I was only able to sleep about 2 hours. Our room looked like it had been broken into with a crowbar and nothing was really done to fix the appearance; my instinct is that it was due to a medical emergency. The hotel was conveniently next to the train station but there was a lot of construction which made getting there with luggage a bit difficult. If I need to catch a flight in the future and need to be near the airport I will not stay here again.

Family visit to Finland
We have stayed here several times over eight years. It looks very shabby and needs updating. Rooms are of a good size but they could be cleaner and it had no tea or coffee / kettle / free bottled water or a safe. Situated well for rail and bus links to airport and Helsinki. A good choice of breakfast and a couple of bars in the hotel, but very expensive drinks. Not worth it's four star rating. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Hotel refurbishment needs more work
I use this hotel regularly for its proximity to the airport, good transport connections and surrounding restaurants and bars. Over time Sokos has spent money on refurbishment and but it still has not tackled the restaurant and bars. Nor do I understand room 540 which I was allocated. It's a disabled room but if I were disabled I wonder how I could have jumped over the desk jammed up against the bed to get to sleep! Must try harder
