Beautiful building with breath taking views and on top of that all the staff were friendly approachable and very polite. Thank you for an amazing time.
What can I say apart from magic I loved it here the staff where amazing Molly I think her name was who manager was incredible from start to finish we just had amazing time if u want somewhere chilled with amazing views great food this is for u, also if u love hiking it’s amazing you can work for miles we saw a few seal just below which was great to see. If we come over to lizard again ild 100% stay here..
Stayed here at the end of an explore of Cornwall and it was the best place to stay! Tucked away in a very pretty corner of the world. All the stay were amazing super helpful and polite. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the ocean and lighthouse. When we arrived we were told about a small private cove you could walk down to for a swim in the sea which was a great experience and the hotel even supplied beach towels ! The hotel has two restaurants one for fine dining and a normal one. We tried the normal restaurant and the food was really really good too! All in all amazing would stay again it’s in a lovely place
Such a beautiful, comfortable hotel near the ocean. The views and vistas don’t disappoint. The staff and service was very nice and helpful. Our room very cozy.
Stunning views, fantastic staff and amazing food. We had the full tasting menu once again and it was superb. One of our favourite places for a night away. Love the refurbed cloakroom!
the hotel has a fantastic location - is secluded and quiet.
The location on the coastal hiking trail is just great.
The rooms with a view of the bay are highly recommended - here you can also bridge a day with bad weather.
The food is good and the portions adequate...
We would love to come back...

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
It was my first time here, I didn’t like my room as there was very little light in there and just seemed very dark, I didn’t pay for a view but was disappointed as there was no view at all which made the room dark and depressing. I also think that the breakfast should be included in the price. The food was very good and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very friendly.
This hotel does not have a pool, although it says it does on Hotels.com website
Room pleasant and well equiped with fantastic views, bed comfortable but found pillows so hard I went and bought one!
Staff were very friendly on the whole, except breakfast waiting staff, who were not very approachable. Breakfast choice was OK, although no cereals or white toast available (only muesli, fruit or yoghurt and brown granary toast)- again I went and bought my own. Fried breakfast was nice though.
Not much room for parking, so to avoid a long walk up to the village for parking, (my partner is awaiting a knee replacement so I would have had to drop him off and walk back to hotel on my own - not good at night with uneven surface to lane and little lighting) did not take car out for fear of losing parking space. Although we love the area for the quiet, we don't think we'll stay at this hotel again - mainly because of the lack of a pool, the parking and the breakfast.
Loved the surrounding area. Location is amazing! Friendly staff. Just didn’t like the shower didn’t have a full door made it awkward showering daily. I would recommend this hotel though
We had a small room but we didn’t mind because we were out most of the day. We found the menu limiting but ate out. The service very good. The views from the garden were excellent and staff were very friendly. We had a wonderful stay.
Staff pleasant. Room with crumbs on floor. In a state of disrepair: inside bathroom door bottom paint peeling off, plaster hole in wall. Dinner in hardfloored room with hard plastic chairs so talking echoed so that was disappointing although the meal was delicious.

Lovely stay with friendly obliging staff .
Great b fast , slightly small choice of evening meal. 1st meal of fish and chips excellent but sadly 2 nd meal of steak , was not a good one , tough and tasteless.
Bed room had lovely views and lounge area , which made us overlook the shabby wallpaper!
Comply nice bed , pillows not so .
Beautiful location and wonderful coastal sea views. Friendly and very helpful staff. Delicious food fir breakfast lunch and dinner, Easy parking in the car park. Will definitely return.
Always looked after very well by Alfred and the team at Housel Bay. Fabulous location right on the coastal path. Our initial room had couple of issues, but we were moved to a different room - so resolved very efficiently. Not our first visit, will not be our last.
