"The hotel is conveniently located with amazing views of the castle and the surrounding grounds, including the fields where the sheep graze. I stayed the first night in the room with the terrace, which I recommend. It is perfect for laying on the couch outside after dark to do some serious stargazing. The second night I stayed in apartment 27. There were stairs to climb to get to the apartment, but it was worth it. The apartment was lovely and clean and large (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a living/kitchen area), and the water pressure in the shower of the bathroom with the skylight was the BEST water pressure I've ever had in a shower in my entire life - at home or on the road. The staff was mostly very friendly, except for one waiter who was working during breakfast in the restaurant both mornings that I was there who was not friendly. But everyone else was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Our room (127) was spacious and well equipped, in a quieter position looking over the car park away from but conveniently located for the main road. "Very clean and spacious bedrooms however they use an air vacuum toilet system which it was acknowledged to me was useless. I used the pub toilet at times because of continual blockages. That’s dreadful. It is a pub and was very good with pleasant staff. The breakfast was limited to usual hot food, except only fried eggs, limited continental breakfast. We had one evening meal and not brilliant however the fish restaurants in Amble compensate. Parking is good and plentiful on-site. The pub is difficult to find using a car satnav but ok if you use Google. Apparently the pub has been there 3 years and many satnavs don’t recognise the estate it’s on."
