There was a cockroach in our room, crawling on the wall right in front of us. In the middle of the night they gave us the option of spraying raid in the room and inhaling that while we slept or switching rooms. So we had to switch rooms in the middle of the night.

the hotel is an older property that has been renovated. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There no no elevators, so be prepared to lug luggage up stairs. The view from the room out to the bay was beautiful. But the rooms are not sound proofed and there is considerable outside noise at night from cars, motorcycles and blasting music on the sidewalk outside. Bring ear plugs if you stay in front rooms.

The room was very basic considering the price we paid for a 3-star hotel. It didn’t feel like good value for money. The added service charge also felt unnecessary given the limited amenities provided. Overall cleanliness could have been better—the room did not feel as clean or well-maintained as expected.

Positives: the staff was great, the lobby, the game room, the pool area, and the laundry facilities were excellent. The parking and the location were also good. Negative: The rooms were not worth the price. We two rooms. The beds were comfortable, sheets clean, nice quality towels, working A/C (all good). However, we had cockroaches in one of our rooms which did not make us happy, especially that the rooms were expensive. Actually, we heard other people complaining of cockroaches to the front desk and insisted on moving rooms. I am not buying “it’s just like that in tropical places” either. . Perhaps in cheap hotels but this one was far from cheap. In addition, I have travelled extensively in Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America and never and I mean NEVER had cockroaches in my hotel room.

Price point does not match room condition, available amenities or location. Cons-$25 extra per night. Coffee bar in lobby is one carafe with coffee. No coffee maker in room, no microwave in room. Bikes are rusty, hard to pedal, brakes don’t work. Location is not truly walkable or bike friendly. Busy street was unnerving to navigate through. Park across the street is busy on weekends. Loud cars and blasting music. Weekdays less busy but many homeless, several displaying mental illness. Flights overhead starting at 6am Rooms poorly remodeled. 3 levels, no elevator. Narrow staircase. Calendar of events not accurate. Pros- koi pond, staff is responsive, lei making was a unique experience

The room was clean and adequate. But be warned that it was bare bones meaning that it didn’t have the amenities that other hotels had for the same price. There was no bar soap ( just liquid soap on the wall), no notepad and pen, no microwave or coffee maker in the room. The bed was softer than we were used to and had a squeak when we moved. The air conditioner was annoying so we didn’t use it at night. We felt like we were in a basement because we had to keep the frosted glass shutters closed because people were walking in front of our room because it was an outside entry, as all the rooms were. The pool closed at 7 pm and there was no hot tub. Other than that it was okay.

Clean but very spartan for the money. Half of the hotel had nicer rooms. Ours was the size of a typical motel room. Very small bathroom, limited electric outlets. 3rd floor with no elevator. Extra $30/night resort fee for tea bags, coffee in lobby,and I think access to a very standard pool.
