We took advantage of all the amenities like the paddle boarding, we saw lots of sea turtles. The hotel was well kept all though there was construction going on in the area we were staying so it was quite loud.

The room and hotel is exactly what it promises. No frills and quiet (except for the occasional plane flying by). If you are in Hawaii and in Hilo you are probably not staying in your hotel a lot. You will save money on their free coffee which is actually really good and strong. Staff is polite and friendly. There are plenty of places to eat in walking distance. The property is very beautiful and the koi pond is awesome when lit up at night.

Had a deluxe room overlooking the Koi pond and Harbor. This hotel has a mid-century vibe. The location is perfect. Starbucks is a mere 1.3 miles away. It’s walking distance from a great restaurant that is right across the street. Locals confirmed this fact. Staff was friendly, helpful and fun… The hotel looks like a converted old Holiday Inn, with only outside access to each room. However, the carefully crafted the remodel has succeeded in injecting charm to the solid bones…

I recently stayed at SCP Hilo Hotel and was genuinely impressed by the blend of comfort, sustainability, and aloha spirit. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean. Finally, the hotel is commitment to sustainability and holistic hospitality is evident throughout the property...from refillable water station (in the lobby) and recycling. Definitely recommend this hotel.
