Modern hotel located conveniently in district 1. Unfortunately, here is where the positives end. Stay here only if you can sleep through loud noises.
Sound proofing is almost non-existent - you can hear people in the adjacent room talking, albeit mostly muffled, unless they are talking really loudly. The lack of sound proofing coupled with the fact that majority of the better rooms with bath tubs face the main road or the night life side street, means that this hotel is not suitable for those who sleep normal hours. I am not a light sleeper and even I had trouble sleeping.
We booked a culture view suite for the bathtub, and had to change rooms twice due to noise. Eventually, we downgraded to a smaller room, without bath tub, and it was much quieter but the room was miserable with no natural sunlight, with a small window facing the back of peoples’ homes.
The way they went about addressing our noise complain was bad.
- Firstly, we were told by a staff that we can change rooms when we called at 4am the first night, when we were constantly woken up by tourists in the next room talking very loudly. But the next day, another staff told us they do not have other rooms for us.
- When we enquired further, they miraculously found a room to move us - but that turned out to be an even noisier room.
- We had to demand to change rooms at 2am that night, as we were simply unable to sleep.
There was some service recovery like tea & fruits in our room & transport which we appreciate
