「This is a fabulous hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, very good food, comfortable and well appointed rooms. Great location on the Northumbrian coast in a village which is a delight to walk round.」

「First class stay, quality of fresh food was quite amazing for a small place, fresh Lobster on the menu and breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh local produce. Will definitely come back!」

「Room was great with a comfortable bed. No air-conditioning so hot in the night. A fan was provided. Great shower. Breakfast buffet was basic and had to ask for restock as staff not on top of it. Full English breakfast looked OK. This is a pub as well with a predictable menu if you have visited any in the chain. OK for some but not for us. Would stay again just for the room and location. Parking on street or in nearby car park.」

「We loved to stay at Hillcrest bed-and-breakfast it’s absolutely amazing place few steps away from Bamburgh Castle. The stuff was caring and responding to every our need or questions. Breakfast is excellent at this place every morning freshly cooked classic British breakfast.」

「Very clear instructions how to sign in. Room was lovely with a view of the sea and very good value for money! They even let me know that the carpark was going to be out of use due to the local festival taking place in the carpark. Only slight issue was the very good selection of books available that I couldn't possibly read in one night!! 😅! All in all a very nice place! 👍」

「The property is in a lovely setting and as the sun was shining we enjoyed an evening glass of wine on the patio looking over the gardens and tipi. The restaurant, public areas and the bedrooms were all pristine and food of a great standard, when in the area we would definitely stay again.」

「This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night.」

「Usual YHA setup but in interesting and peaceful location on a private courtyard, nice and quiet even in the heart of Berwick. Breakfast made to order and very good, includes coffee or you can have one made on an espresso machine for an up charge. Private rooms available with en-suite was a good balance of value for money and privacy」
