Firstly the location is great. A few minutes walk from the beach and the cliffs. The White Eagle Pub is just down the road, is very friendly, serves good food and is always busy.
We didnt get off to a good start when we arrived as we had not been sent the access code for the keys and had to chase Oyster but they were able to provide this within 10 minutes or so. On the day after arrival (Sunday) we found the shower did not work. Despite being a Sunday Oyster had a plumber call sameday to report that it needed a new valve and this would not be available until Tuesday when it was fixed (although we had to chase Oyster for an update). But that was 4 days without a working shower which i am sure could have been avoided with better management of the maintenance requirements of the property. I find at hard to believe it just failed without any signs that it was failing. Disappointingly there was no follow up call from Oyster to make sure all was OK and maybe apologise for the inconvenience? And certainly no further communication once I suggested we might be due some financial compensation!
The property itself is charming albeit getting a little shabby, There is a wonderful view of the sea from the living room window but it could be better if the bushes and grass were cut shorter. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The sofa is very small as is the chair and both are a little tatty. You need to be 7 foot tall to open/close one of the blinds in the living room. There is also a window that will not close. There seem to be several holes filled with visible expanding foam. Apparently the property was updated around 2012 and i suspect not much has been spent on it since.
Despite the shortcomings, we enjoyed our stay on Anglesey (as we always do) and will return but not to the Cabbage Patch.
