This house was perfect for our family! Plenty of room, very clean, lots of things to do. We brought paddle boards, but they also had some, and they had some bikes and tubes, too.

Just what we needed

The house was just right for our family and being right on the river just can't be beat. We were on the river daily...sometimes up to Platte Lake, sometimes down to Loon Lake, and even all the way down to Lake Michigan. We will definitely stay again!

Excellent property, location and overall feel

It really felt like staying at our family's home. We looooved having the river in the backyard and being able to paddle to the lake. The neighbors were really friendly and everyone in our party loved the property from kids to adults. Our only regret? Not booking for a longer period! Maybe next time?

Lovely family cottage

We stayed with 6 adults and 3 children - a comfortable number to share the house with. The property has a beautiful location on the river with a nice dock and fire pit. The yard was larger than expected and the water was clear and shallow enough for smaller children to enjoy. We loved that it is close by Riverside Canoe Rental as we frequented there for food and ice cream. We appreciated that the house had laundry accommodations and the apps on both TVs were conveniently signed in for our use. We extend our thanks to the homeowner for a great stay at your lovely family cottage!

Nice place on the river

Fall Trip mid-October 2024

The house and property were awesome, rustic but updated. Everything in the house worked and the location was great. The river was awesome, cold in mid-October, but super relaxing and fun to be around. There were a ton of water toys in the garage as well. We had nightly bonfires and enjoyed the huge yard. The weather was great so we spent most of our time outside but the house had puzzles, games, and toys for rainy days. The location is great, down a quiet street but close to M-22, Frankfort, Lake Michigan, Glen Arbor, and the sleeping bear dunes. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Parents weekend

Loved the location of this property. It was an easy, nice drive to all the things we enjoy in the area. We loved sitting on the dock watching the ducks in the river. Enjoyed a bonfire in the fire pit. It would have been really nice to have firewood on site. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. A Keurig would have been nice for everyone to have their preferred brews We were extremely disappointed that we couldn’t use the grill as planned. The grill was extremely dirty. The cleanliness of the home could be better. The beds were very comfortable. Loved the shower. Great water pressure and shower head. The kennel area was nice for the dog. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend in the home.

Perfect Platte Cottage

This home has it all - amenities, comfort, and location. Kids love being in and fishing in the river. Even if the lakes are rough, the river is pleasant, and water isually feels warmer than lakes. Easy paddle to Loon Lake (30-45 min) or even Lake MI ( 2 - 2.5 hrs). By motorboat, Big Platte is a few minutes upstream. Husband was able to attend online business meeting, teens enjoyed streaming TV- no wifi issues. Clear the owners have put many upgrades into home to make stay relaxing (comfy beds,, water systems, central air, gas grill, lovely dock, and beautiful, well-appointed kitchen (with dishwasher!) This home is minutes from Lake MI beaches, national park, quaint towns w/ restaurants and shopping, hiking trails, and many inland lakes. It is a peaceful and fun spot.
