A small cottage in the center of Horta, Faial Island, Azores

Experience a rural, quiet and relaxed atmosphere while being in Horta city centre. Our small self-catering traditional house was totally rebuilt in 2011 keeping its rustic appearance but improving its comfort. It has 2 queen size beds in the upper mezannine, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and living. It is also equipped with a washing machine, cable TV and free wireless internet. Heating is provided by an old style wood burning stove. There are two outdoor areas: the entry garden and another seating area with a beautiful view of the Ribeira da Conceição. An outside barbecue and an inside traditional wood-fired oven are available for using. Being a small house with an interior area of 40 m2 and 70 m2 outdoor area, has all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. While you have the feeling of being away from everything, the house is located in the city centre within walking distance from many convenient places: the vegetable and fish market, grocery stores, bakery store, a few coffee places and restaurants, the Faial theatre, the Alagoa park and the Conceição beach.

The price varies between € 60 in low season and € 75 in high season. For stays longer than 7 days, the eighth night is free, with a weekly cleaning included. We request a minimum stay of 3 nights.

Staying in the boat house

The house is well equipped and the location excellent, although one must plan to walk 200 meters to reach the house which is on a peculiar road to deive. the host is suoer helpful and polite, the kitchen fully stocked.

The property was just as described, close to the town centre and beach. Very quiet and genuine Azorean feel with thick stone walls. Within easy walking distance of bakery, veg market and other town facilities. Will come again. We were probably very lucky with the weather at this time of year but it was a great holiday.

Casa muy amplia y acogedora, cuidada. La ubicacion está muy bien ya que puedes aparcar sin problema en los alrededores y puedes llegar al centro en unos 8 min andando. Al entrar dispones de una pequeña terraza donde comer en el exterior. En la planta de abajo hay un salon, la cocina y el baño. En la parte de arriba estan las dos camas de matrimonio. Esta bastante limpia y equipada. Hay mosquiteras en todas las ventanas pero aun asi, siempre entra algun insecto. Nos ha gustado mucho.

La casa è molto caratteristica e ben ristrutturata, pulita e in ordine. Si è rivelata, però, estremamente ridotta in ogni spazio. La sconsigliamo per più di due persone perché, nel soppalco molto, molto basso non c'è spazio e bisogna aprire le valige al piano terra non lasciando altro spazio per muoversi. Il bagno ha un lavandino piccolissimo. Il ruscello dietro casa a volte emana odori non piacevoli.

Petite maison charmante à Horta

Jolie petite maison à proximité du centre ville d'Horta. Idéal pour profiter d'Horta et pour rayonner sur Faial. La maison a du cachet, mais est de taille modeste. Nous étions 4 dont 2 enfants (8 et 10), et on aurait pu se sentir à l'étroit si la météo nous avait obligés à rester à l'intérieur. Pas de problème par contre pour les couchages, même si l'escalier d'accès est pentu. A noter le passage très étroit pour accéder en voiture à la maison, mais ça passe! Pour les procédures d'arrivée puis de départ, nous avons facilement pu communiquer avec Patricia par téléphone ou message.

Charming bungalow a 20 min walk from Horta Marina

We enjoyed our stay - It was very clean, charming with an outdoor courtyard where we enjoyed our morning coffee and dinner once or twice. One observation and one way it could have been better. The ladder to the beds is steep and whereas we didn't have any problem climbing UP the ladder - coming down! the ladder in the middle of the night in the dark - or in the morning is slightly dangerous. So, if you are young and fit and are OK with climbing ladders - this is a sweet place for you. Also, the bed areas in the loft do not have full headroom - so you have to duck when you're up in the sleeping loft area. The only real complaint is about the bath towels. They were old and stiff and an unfortunate color of grey. Nice, new, soft bath towels would be a great addition.

Herrliche Lage, weit ab vom Trubel! Gemütliches Ferienhaus mit guter Ausstattung in fantastischer Ruhe. Zentrum und Hafen sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und die Abende über dem grünen, trockenem Bachbett genossen.

lauschiges, gemütliches Häuschen, kompltett eingerichtet, geschickt ausgebaut, sehr zentral und trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Zufahrt nur mit Kleinwagen möglich. Patricia ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, hat sich sehr um uns gekümmert, ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Nice little house near city center and very calm

We had a wonderful time in "Adega do Mirante" and really enjoied our stay. Everything we needed was there. The little garden was perfect for dinner or barbecue. Patricia and her husbund provided us with lots of information about the surroundings end even brought us bicicles. Everything was perfect. We really recommend this accomodation to other guests. To stay in "Adega do Mirante" was a very nice experience and a great pleasure. Thank you so much for everything!

Ficámos 4 dias e gostámos muito. Para além de uma localização muito favorável acessível a pé do centro da cidade, o local garante a privacidade de quem quer ter umas férias verdadeiramente relaxantes. O acesso à zona de dormir exige alguma perícia perfeitamente ao alcance de qualquer jovem vaidoso de sessenta anos. Depois é só dormir nas nuvens, pois o silencio é absoluto, apenas entrecortado pelo sino que nos desperta pela manhã. Para aqueles que gostam de peixe grelhado como nós, é só ir ao peixe e aproveitar o providencial barbecue para um jantar opíparo. Nunca a expressão 'small is beautiful' fez tanto sentido. Nous sommes restés une semaine dans cette petite maison. Très bien située au centre d'Horta, calme et surtout refaite à neuf. Tout était charmant et fonctionnel, rien ne manquait que ce soit dans la cuisine, en linge de maison, et même en documentation sur les Açores. Nous avons vraiment apprécié l'endroit, en plus la propriétaire est très sympa. Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse, en couple ou à 4 avec deux enfants c'est parfait!

Sfeervol Azoreaans huisje op uitstekende locatie

Aankomstdatum niet helemaal zeker. Een heel plezierig huisje. Gelegen in een wat rustiger omgeving van Horta. Loopafstand naar een strandje. En prima afstand naar het centrum. Het huisje is echt voor max. 4 personen (4 volwassenen of 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen). Ook is het handig wanneer je allemaal goed ter been bent. Zelf vinden wij het niet geschikt voor ouderen. Trap en krappe stahoogte boven en de slaapkamers zijn meer een grote open ruimte (slaapkamers zijn 1 grote ruimte en gescheiden door lage kastenwand én beneden en boven staan in open verbinding). Voor ons geen bezwaar, maar kan eventueel met kleine kinderen lastig zijn. De ruimtebesparende indeling en nieuwe indeling/apparatuur maken het een zeer aangenaam verblijf. De eigenaar is heel vriendelijk en toegankelijk. Aan onze beste vrienden zouden we deze woning aanbevelen. Faial is fantastisch! Alhoewel wij het niet zouden aanbevelen voor jongeren die graag avond aan avond feesten. Het is er rustig en de seaweek is een aanrader! Capelinhos bezoeken! Rondtocht eiland! Caldeira - krater bezoeken en de reis er naar toe. Prachtig met aan beide zijde van de weg aaneengesloten Hortensia's. Oerbos. Een diversiteit aan natuur. Foto's zijn zoals wij het gezien hebben en ook in ons eigen fotoalbum staan. Volgens mij waren wij de eerste gasten in het huis, dus alles wat perfect! Een wasmachine buiten onder een zeer ruim afdak (zeer fraai weer) is bijzonder handig. In Nederland moet je vaak huisjes schoon achterlaten of je moet er voor betalen. Dat was toen wij daar waren niet zo. Schoonmaak en opruimen was inbegrepen. Zoals we gewend zijn hebben wij het netjes schoon achtergelaten. Eigenaar was verbaasd! Heel plezierige mensen over het gehele eiland en wij hebben geen narigheid meegemaakt. Is ons ook verteld, dat er nauwelijks ongeregeldheden plaatsvinden. Veilige vakantieplek! Fijn verblijf en een fijne vakantie!
