"The hotel and room itself was clean. There was a damp smell in our room that I’m assuming came from the air conditioner. The ac also struggled to keep up—it was a mild weekend in April and we set the thermostat to 70, but it took quite a while to get down to 70. Beds were comfortable enough for us. The staff was always very friendly. The breakfast was not great, so much so that we went out for breakfast the second morning. Disappointing when “breakfast included” is one of the reasons you choose a place. Overall not bad. "

"We were put in a room with an adjoining room door and we could hear the neighbors noisy children and their loud mother like they were in our room. They went to bed late and were up early, so they really interfered with our sleep. We will never allow ourselves to be placed in a similar situation again. "

"What's to like.., well, the view is still there if you get a room overlooking the water. There's that and that's pretty much it. I am sure 25 or 30 years ago this was a fine hotel. I'm equally sure that was the last time it was actually cleaned and kept up. I'm not slamming the employees, who were friendly and polite. But there's only so much they can do. It's the owners/ managers that have cut so many corners to maximize profits I suppose. The cleaning staff only gives everything the once over. Probably only allowed so many minutes per unit. Don't look closely at anything anywhere. The surrounding grounds aren't cleaned too often. The back patio is a total mess, tables and chairs askew and left that way for days. The landscaping is all dying out, nobody tending to it at all that I could see. But I suppose you get what you pay for, and we should have spent a little more. Next time we come to Hot Springs, we'll stay just one night in a little nicer hotel instead of two nights here. But.., if you're on a tight budget like we were, well I guess I should complain so much..."
