"I can’t say enough about this place - from every little detail, they thought of everything. We stayed here between two hikes and it was the perfect place to rest. Everything was comfortable and inviting. We booked the upstairs queen room with a private bathroom. And to our surprise it had its own sitting area with mini fridge, coffee station and microwave with chairs. Absolutely perfect to sit and enjoy. It’s so clean, and so adorable. The balcony has a great view and it was wonderful chatting with others who were also resting between hikes. They are so welcoming to dogs as well - our dog enjoyed it and was just as comfortable.. The staff is amazing and incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back as we plan more hikes in the high peak region and we honestly can say it’s just as much of a highlight as the hikes!! "In their VRBO review, one of the previous guests said that "The view was SPECTACULAR - the pictures don’t do it justice." This is SO true. It's hard to imagine it until you see it. My husband, teen daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They both kept saying to me, "I know I already said this, but this house is amazing!" The house itself was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the hosts added special touches that made us feel at home. We enjoyed flipping through the books in the house, playing games and working on puzzles in the large sitting room, relaxing on the porch sipping coffee in the morning, and working to identify the many mountains you could see from the porch. We all loved the look, feel and smell of the place. The private hiking trails were also amazing (we saw a mama bear and her cub, a young buck, and a hawk!), and we were so close to the High Peaks and many other mountains and trails for lots of hiking. The towns of Keene and Keene Valley also offer many great restaurants and shopping options, and Lake Placid is just a short drive if you want more of a touristy feel. Can't wait to come back and sit on the porch with more coffee and pie from the Noon Mark Diner! [A few more notes: the communication with the hosts was spot on. The house included a really helpful manual with lots of information. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. Wi-Fi access was perfect.]"

"Year 5 and just as wonderful as the first year. Trish and Mark we can't thank you enough for sharing your house with us, it's our favorite place away from home and we're always excited to get there."

"My girlfriend and I LOVED this place. It's not the Marriot or some chain, so it's a bit unique and has quirks, and that's why it's awesome. The room was small but comfortable, the bed very comfy. There was no TV in the room, which I really liked. Great shower. Outside there was a little deck with chairs so we could relax, listen to the Ausable River and look at the lovely grounds. There was also a restaurant area (closed while we were there) that we could sit in for meals or just to hang out. Cool decorations everywhere (and a TV, if you really needed one). And a small game room with foosball, pingpong and a pool table. Fire pit with chairs. Oh, and they provided a nice bagged breakfast with an egg, granola bar, orange, juice box -- basically a good hiking snack. And the staff were very friendly and helpful."
