"This property was spotless and well equipped. It is a bit ‘off the beaten track’, but in a lovely location and within walking distance of an excellent village shop. There is another property adjoining this one. The provision of a swimming pool enhanced this property greatly. Although we only met the host, Helen, twice she was most pleasant and helpful. Would certainly recommend this accommodation if one is looking for peace and solitude and yet it is only about 5 miles from Romsey."

"We were greeted by our host who had kindly allowed us to deposit our luggage ahead of moving into the cottage. The cottage itself is cosy and well appointed with an Aga stove in the kitchen that keeps the cottage warm. It has a small but well kept garden with table and chairs for outside dining if desired. "We have really enjoyed our previous two visits to the Shepherds Retreat and our third visit was equally spectacular. We arrived during a storm but the accommodation was cozy and we didn’t feel exposed to the elements. I say we were lucky, because we had a beautiful walk on the beach and a couple of excellent walks in the New Forest and the weather was perfect for all of our activities. We will be returning again soon!"

"Very modern and clean hotel,with friendly staff. Room was quite quirky with a glass door leading to WC and shower, which had window in. Very large TV with a good range of HD channels. Parking was cheap with free electric charging points. The only letdown was the breakfast, the hot food was not hot enough and plates were cold, along with the quality was not good. If we stopped there again would have room only and get breakfast from onsite Starbucks or ASDA, Maccies next door. "

Nice restaurant where we had an enjoyable evening meal and wine, discounted by £5 per person by downloading the App. Free weekend parking. Taxi for 4 with all luggage to Southampton Terminal £25.
