We had high expectations mainly due to the reviews but also due the fact that the owners had signed
We had high expectations mainly due to the reviews but also due the fact that the owners had signed up to the Covid-19 Safer Stays program. Thankfully we were not disappointed as everything was in order.
The cottage was super clean with quality fixtures and fittings. It was warm and comfortable with a TV in lounge and bedroom.
We met Sue twice and she was great, she even posted our camera battery and charger back to us, thanks again for that.
You can park your car right by the cottage, the surface is gravel but good.
There is a nice pub 5 mins walk and another really nice pub over in Broadway 20 mins walk, both pubs have outdoor seating and were operating a really good table service due to Covid.
There is walking paths close by and the countryside is nice.
We would like to return both in the summer as there is a big garden at the side and also in the winter so we could try out the log burner which looks great.
Local amenities are really 2 pubs and a little village shop, but were good.

The cottage was perfect for us.
The cottage was perfect for us. We arrived to find the fire already lit, which was a nice surprise (the weather was foul at the time!). We found the cottage spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and it had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The village includes a pub and a small post office/shop, and Illminster (just a few minutes' drive away) has more facilities including a supermarket. We enjoyed the surrounding area, including off-road biking on the nearby 'Stop Way Line' disused railway line, and trips to Charmouth and Lyme Regis. I highly recommend this cottage.

Weather wasn't the best but lots of things within 1/2 hour drive. The Bell pub is a little further away than The Five Dials, but lovely pub, amazing food. They also do takeaway.

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay in Pottery Cottage.
We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay in Pottery Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and maintained and is in a very peaceful location, ideally for exploring Somerset, Devon and Dorset. The owners were very helpful and welcoming and the milk and cookies on arrival were very much appreciated. We would happily visit again!

Lovely accommodation, very comfortable, everywhere was very tidy and clean.

Homely & comfortable - very clean and modern. The welcome pack was appreciated and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Excellent access to all the sites in Somerset. Both pubs in the village are worth a visit and the little shop is useful for essential supplies. We had a brilliant stay and would recommend to anybody.

We had the most wonderful holiday at Pottery Cottage with our 2 boys.
We had the most wonderful holiday at Pottery Cottage with our 2 boys. (Age 2 and 5) The cottage was such a lovely tranquil place. The boys particularly enjoyed playing in the the big garden next to the cottage and loved seeing the cats coming and going from the main house.
Barry and sue couldn’t have been more accommodating. They were so lovely and even allowed us to borrow a parasol for the hottest day of the year for the beach.
Places we found really nice to visit were Sherborne Castle, Lyme Regis and Charmouth beaches and the chippy in Ilminster was great too!!
We would highly recommend this property as it was clean, homely and modern. Thank you so much Barry and Sue.....we hope to return at some point for sure!!

What a fabulous place to stay - convenient for tons of great places in Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Beautiful gardens, a great-sized cottage, all spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. We were very comfy during our stay and my 5 month old has never slept so well!

Another lovely stay at this first class cottage.
Another lovely stay at this first class cottage. In our previous review, we mentioned that a shelf in the bathroom would be useful. We arrived to find one installed. Thank you, Barry and Sue.
