PRIVATE 150FT WATERFALL RIGHT OFF DECK! Rustic, Asian inspired.

Paradise Lost! Come to one of the most unique properties in the Blue Ridge. Artisan home surrounded by 15 acres with a 150ft waterfall a few feet off the front deck. If you are looking for WIFI and TV this is NOT your vacation. Looking for down time? Looking for inspiration? Looking to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the speed of the world this IS the place for you. Open the windows and let the sound of the water heal your soul. Sit in front of an antique picture window with 20 foot writing desk and watch as the rays of the sun filter through the canopy of trees and light across the pages of your journal. From this window you will be looking down about 100 ft to the creek below and at all the amazing rock formations on the opposing bank. Or take your yoga mat on the deck and do warrior pose as the sun wakes the day. At night light a fire on the deck and listen to the night sounds as you watch the stars come out. Take a soak in the Asian tub inside the house and open the windows and listen to the falls as you let the weight of the world fade away. Everyone who comes will understand how special this place is. You can not write about special, you have to feel it. Home was previously owned by writer and playwright. From the soapstone kitchen sink to the shower room with a rock ledge for the drain every detail is unique. It is the perfect vacation for writers or romantics. The driveway is steep with turns and some loose gravel. Guest will need to have an all wheel drive or 4x4. Your option is to park inside gate and shuttle supplies up and down in a cart that is provided. Driveway is about 100 yards long roughly.

Around the area you will find yourself 3 miles from the New River and Blue Ridge Parkway. You are about 45 minutes from some of the best hiking the state has to offer at Grayson Highlands State park where you can connect to the Appalachian Trail. The New River Trail you can pick up as you enter Galax 20 min from cabin. This will connect you with miles of walking trail. West Jefferson NC is a 50 min drive and you can spend all day walking quaint shops and wonderful eateries.

A truly healing location!

We were looking for a quiet weekend getaway while attending an event in this area. This cabin and waterfall location was a much needed retreat! The host was prompt with details and answering any questions we had prior to arriving. This truly is a special place, and being able to fully unplug from everything next to this beautiful waterfall is a healing experience. Best sleep I’ve had in ages!!!

150' Waterfall House

Fabulous, beyond our expectations. The waterfall is just as pictured, if not better. We had a lot of rain one day, and the water volume increased very much. WOW! It happened twice that one day. The view of the waterfall from the bed is a very nice extra.

Our stay at the falls was so needed. I kidnapped my husband and although he was skeptical about the location, and the place, he changed his mind really quickly. The mode of the inside of the home resembled nothing but peace and tranquility. Every little detail was perfectly placed. We loved the sounds of the falls with each game or puzzle we worked together. We can’t wait to return! We added to the library and puzzle collection. Such a blessing to find and be able to stay!

A Little Piece of Heaven

The falls are so beautiful and soothing and the house so delightfully creative and charming we felt like we were in our own personal paradise for a few days. Magical and Nourishing

We had such an amazing stay at this waterfall oasis. We had plans to hike and explore Grayson Highlands, and it ended up being quite difficult to want to leave! We could’ve easily enjoyed several more nights here, and look forward to returning. Thank you so much for thinking of everything under the sun. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more. We are so glad we were able to experience a stay and celebrate our anniversary at this wondrous spot. It’s a memory we deeply cherish. A great place to disconnect and reconnect. We'll be back for sure! Just be aware of the driveway-- it really is steep and even my husband's Subaru struggled to get up it. You will need a car with 4WD for sure.

Unplug and reconnect

The waterfall cottage was exactly what my husband and I needed! We loved everything about our stay. We read, listened to the wonderful cd collection, danced, played cards and just enjoyed each others company while watching and listening to the falls. We cooked breakfast and dinner in the well supplied kitchen each day and explored local towns in the afternoon. Caroline really thought of everything! We look forward to coming back. Zen Paradise

I highly recommend this peaceful home overlooking a beautiful waterfall that you hear morning and night. We loved waking up and seeing the waterfall. The Japanese soaking tub offered a tranquil view of the waterfall during the day, sounds if the waterfall and candlelight at night. No wifi, no cell phones … an incredible respite from fast paced life.

A Sanctuary

Short stay this time, but we made the most of it. This property is an absolute gem. You can relax in a comfy chair staring at the elegance of the falls with a glass of wine and some music playing, or soak for hours in the tub. Outside, the waterfall and stream are an exciting habitat for various wildlife. We spotted two different types of newts! The space is so inviting, and you can really see the care that's gone into making it so remarkable. Everything is magical. Turn off your phone, unpack your things, and let the natural, wild beauty of this place erase your troubles. We'll certainly be back for a longer stay in the future!

My wife and I live in the country on a purty piece of land, but this spot is something special. The sounds and the grounds are lush but they are rivaled by the deep soak tube hanging over you private waterfall in the back yard. We will be calling on our wonderful host, Caroline, again!

no better vacation getaway

There is no better place in Virginia to unplug from the internet and detach from the busy-ness of modern life. Perfect peace at the foot of a waterfall. Lovely, perfectly appointed cabin. Stay for a weekend or for two weeks - leave refreshed and only wishing you could stay longer. Healing Waters Falls has my highest recommendation!

Secluded Natural Serenity

This place is amazing. Beautifully crafted building that seems to have been built around the bathtub and views of the waterfall. Exposed reclaimed timbers and lots of windows. It felt like we were at our own private sauna and meditation center. We parked at the top of the hill by the gate and walked down. We didn't trust our minivan to make it back up the steep hill. We actually had just enough cell coverage to send a text (Verizon). Our only regret was not being able to figure out the landline phone number so we could say goodnight to our kiddos. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to unplug and love nature.
