We were in Ipswich for a family reunion and needed two bedrooms. Apartment #3 was great as one of the bedrooms has a door to the outside roof deck. This made it easy for me to come in late and not wake anyone. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.

It was cute & well-located. We were comfortable though the ceilings are quite low in spots (attic) and the ac was so loud, it was hard to hear the tv. The kitchen was nicely stocked. The spiral/short stairs are a bit much & there was a funny smell, seemed to be from the bathroom. Loved walking into town to explore.
The listing is accurate, stairs are steep and the property is certainly a classic. No issues, perfect for the wife and I and walkable to a cute downtown. Had dinner at the brewery and brunch at Heart and Soul, both were great.
Three of us stayed here for a girls trip and found the property to be very clean and the neighborhood to be very safe. We walked around and explored quite a bit and had a great time. The property was as described and was reasonably priced. Had everything we needed and was in a convenient location.
My longtime friend and I are road tripping New England. This was a great place to stay in a charming small town. LOVED the easy access to the train which brought us right to Salem for a day of adventures! Safe, walkable and quaint...Ipswich is a town i could enjoy longer!
This unit was the perfect location for everything to see in Ipswich! It was so cute, I loved being able to walk to all of the things I wanted to see, and relax on the little patio that was off of my room. Thank you for renting your place to us!

Did not stay
We did not stay. We left right away due to all doors unlocked and apartment door was open. Not safe for 2 women traveling
Very clean and convenient location. Comfortable for me and my husband. It was well stocked. Easy to get to and no problems. The stairs were a little steeper than expected but I was able to get up them. Thank you for the great stay!
The rental is clean and comfortable and checked all the boxes for our stay in Ipswich. Very centrally located and it was a pleasure dealing with the host. I would recommend it for it's location and comfort. The stairs were challenging since it's an older house but not a problem. Many thanks to the host.
This was a great location. Easy walk into town to eat or shop, but right on a main route that made reaching my stepson's place easy. Extra tall people might have difficulty with low rafters in this "treetop" apartment; but if you have no problem with a tall staircase, it will be a pleasure.
Super cute place in a cozy little town. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked and they even have tea and coffee available. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the extra comforters and a variety of pillows to chose from. The statues are fun to walk up, but as the listing states, probably not good for the elderly or young children. We enjoyed the big TV and felt safe. The hosts communicated well, too!
The apartment was a perfect location. The only thing I was not prepared for was the circle staircase but we did not have any trouble with using them. 😊
Overall, our stay was fine. Great location and the unit was clean. Host was very responsive. Although we knew we were on the 3rd floor, the stairs were steep and narrow. One of the bedrooms has a slant in the ceiling and 1 of the guests hit her head pretty hard and has a slight concussion. This unit would not be recommended for elderly guests.
My granddaughter, her husband and I spent 6 days here and we loved it. We loved the character of this little apartment and especially enjoyed the deck/ patio off one of the bedrooms (the one I stayed in). Warning though: it is on the top floor with access by a spiral staircase outside or a narrow wood staircase inside. I am 72 so it was a bit of a challenge but I knew about it before hand. It was all good and we definitely recommend it for your stay.
I had a couple questions and the owners responded almost immediately.
We had a wonderful time staying at this apartment. I will say the pictures and description are absolutely accurate, so expect what you see. For us it was perfect.I'm 6' tall as is my oldest son and there was lots of crouching and ducking, but for a few days it was just fine. The stairs were good exercise for us with all the great food we were eating.
The place was super clean, and the location central to everything we wanted to do in Gloucester and in Newburyport.
The hosts were great and responded to all our questions quickly and made it easy to rent from them. We would absolutely stay again! Thank you!
We really loved the 3rd floor apartment. This is in what we would consider a historical home and the attic conversion for this apartment is pretty well done. It was clean, nicely appointed & we had everything we needed.
The one down side, which is clearly stated in the description and everyone else's reviews, is the stairs leading up to the apartment. They are steep, winding and narrow. So if you have any luggage larger than a carryon, you'll want to leave it at the bottom of the stairs or your vehicle and just carry up what you need.
We were prepared for this and didn't feel that it took anything away from our stay, in fact, it added to the historical feel of our trip. We did only stay one night, so if you think you want to stay longer, just be prepared with a smaller piece of luggage or a bag to bring up what you need for the day/night.
The host was delightful from start to finish. We would definitely stay here again or at one of their other properties.
It is a quaint little attic apartment in a 100 year old home. It is a 10-15 min walk to the train station which will take you many places. There are many restaurants just up the street with great food. There is a laundromat about one block up the street which makes it easy to wash clothes and get them back to the house. It served its purpose of allowing a place to stay with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Wanderson was great when we messaged him about some stuff and came the same day to fix it. It was a bit warm but the portable and window unit ACs do help. Both stairs are spiral, steep, narrow, and difficult to navigate with luggage unless you are very strong. The kitchen is small but serviceable. Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and towels are provided as well as coffee, tea, a few spices, and sugar/sweetener. I am in my 40s and my mother is in her 60s and we were having some trouble with the stairs by the end of the day when we were tired. Make sure the shorter person stays in the room with the AC unit as the gabled roof creates an interesting ceiling (see photos), I may have hit my head more than a few times when not paying attention, and I’m only 5ft 7in. The second bedroom has a door out onto a nice little balcony and access to the second spiral staircase that is outdoors. Overall while we probably wouldn’t choose to stay there again, it isn’t the fault of the apartment or host, it is due to our own health and limitations.
This was such a great stay!! Wonderful space, especially for anyone looking to visit Salem, as it was only about a 30 minute drive. The host was extremely responsive as well. Couldn’t recommend this place more, we had a great trip!!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here in the loft. The rooms were all clean and nearly everything matched the description in the listing. The only exception was the couch, which is in the process of falling apart (the right arm is falling off) and was very uncomfortable. This wasn't enough for me to dock any stars, but it's something to keep in mind if you're considering a stay here.
