"Used accessible entrance on arrival via the breakfast room… poor signage, lights out and smelled of bleach.. not very welcoming. Stairs up to main entrance impossible with suitcases. Reception bright & welcoming when we found it. Room clean, but needs a refurb. WC flush took 10 mins to re-fill!! Three big windows with view of the beach. Spacious with ample storage. Breakfast average but friendly staff. Restaurant evening meal.. fabulous food but expensive. Coffee in lounge served in a pot & same price as a cup elsewhere. Bus stops outside… bus direct to/from airport. "
"Bedrooms excellent bathrooms really lovely and very clean… no need to take towels as lovely clean white towels provided.
The Sefton Hotel really is a Great place and directly on the seafront close to the ship terminal… the Gaiety Theatre next door which is another amazing place to visit. The Bar prices were quite good too. The bar itself is very small and staff look like they are running ragged trying to serve everyone lovely friendly staff too.
The Breakfasts are so GOOD… a lot to choose from cereals fruit fat free yoghurts…. Pastries and all and everything you could ever want in the Buffet style breakfast.
I would just love to give 5 or more Stars…. It just needs a few things e.g. a lick of paint here or there and carpet in some areas.
That however seems unfair as the Sefton Hotel is the best place I’ve stayed at in The Isle of Man so well done to everyone.
The ladies in the breakfast room are truly lovely and friendly"
"Great Location, about 20min walk to the Sea Terminal, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The host is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast freshly cooked. A few cons: 1. The single room is a bit small (so wouldn’t recommend if you have big suitcases), and the bed is too soft which doesn’t feel comfortable. 2. The heating in the room is not 24h on, so it might get a bit chilly in the early morning, but there is an extra blanket in the room."
"Clean, spacious room, modern, friendly staff. Play area needs attention as old and limited, only regular tea and coffee at breakfast, no lattes etc, these were chargeable. "
"I can't fault my 3-night stay at the Halvard as a solo traveller on business. My room was well maintained, spacious and comfortable with a decent heating/aircon system that allowed me to have the temperature I like. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful throughout my stay. The food was superb with the included breakfast being excellent. The evening meals were likewise delicious, although the choices are limited - so if you are staying for more than a couple of days, you might soon get bored. The in-room minibar was stocked with a few soft drink options, a couple of bags of crisps and a chocolate bar, but was completely free and replenished daily - which was a nice additional touch. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel."
