Jack Island Hotels

"Incredibly dirty. There were stains and debris on the floors and carpets in the main areas. There was a pile of laundry stacked on the floor near the elevators on our floor. In the room, there was trash still on the bathroom floor, so it was obviously not swept. There was an odor in the building that was obviously being covered up with air fresheners. Parts and pieces falling off of fixtures attached to walls. Chips and scuffs in all of the walls. Overall, the condition of the entire hotel was disrepair. We booked adjoining rooms and the adjoining doors were stuck shut. The only positive here is that housekeeping/maintenance was very responsive and came quickly to kick it open. I attempted to call the front desk 2 times later in the evening because the wifi password given at check in was expired. No one answered and I was never able to connect to the wifi. Pool and gym were “closed for remodeling”, so no use of the amenities. We opted of the complimentary breakfast, as th eating area was in the same state of disrepair and cleanliness as the rest of the building. I booked this hotel based on its location on the map - I thought it was the same hotel I had stayed at the last time I came through. I will not be making that mistake again."

"Clean and convenient"

"If I could leave zero stars I would. I’ve stayed in some BAD places and this is probably the worst. It’s definitely the dirtiest. The entire “non smoking” room smelled like smoke. The bathroom had not been cleaned since the last occupants and it was DISGUSTING!! The toilet actually had poop and TP in it and pubic hairs on the seat. Thank god I keep Clorox wipes in the car!! The shower was filthy with dried shampoo or shower gel running down the side and a massive hairball in the drain. The washcloth was so dirty I wouldn’t use it, it looked like a rag you’d keep in the garage. The latch to lock the door was totally missing. The handle to the balcony door was missing. Other than that, there was no trash can anywhere, the curtains to cover balcony were pieced together with 4 pieces of random fabric and if you want to keep the bright light from the parking light out you’ll have to use a chair to hold them together and in place. There is dried liquid splatter and funk caked on the walls and doors. The bedding REEKS of smoke in a non smoking room. I’m all about staying in a less than stellar place to save a few bucks, but trust me…pay the extra money to stay somewhere else!!!! This place is NASTY"

"Comfortable to sleep, however the shower did not drain very well so had to shower in standing water. Breakfast was also decent and had a variety of choices and it was the same each morning. "

"There were coins in the floor and there was an awful smell in the air at the hotel the whole time. Staff was very friendly, but the hotel could use a remodel and they could clean them a better. All in all it was not a bad stay, just a few things that could be better! "

"We visited Texarkana to attend a wedding and this house met all of our needs. Comfortable beds, very clean property, quiet neighborhood, dog friendly, and communication with the property owner was quick and easy. Will definitely stay here again."
