“I missed the gluten free options they used to have”

“Fantastic staff! Very helpful!”

“The staff for breakfast was wonderful. The hotel was fully booked. The staff was able to keep up with the demand of food. Our room did not look like it had been cleaned. There was food on floor and on pull out couch. The sheets had stains on them. Unfortunately with them being fully there wasn't much they could do. We did check in around 10pm and front desk person did offer to clean it. The housekeeping was supposed to clean it next morning. Unfortunately the only thing they did was pick up……

“I saw a lot of bad reviews about this location and I didn't experience any of them. Staff was helpful, room was clean, bed was comfy. It wasn't a five star hotel, nor does it deserve lower than 3. It's older, and worn in some areas. I'd rate between a 3 and 4. Definitely could use remodeling.”

“As of 07-26 no pool or gym. Seems to be undergoing renovations.”

“I travel to So. Illinois annually to visit but this is my first stay at the Makanda Inn. It will not be my last. I had a very peaceful stay- after long days of family visit and running around with the grands, it was so nice to stay here where it was quiet and relaxing. Breakfast every morning was top notch and just the right portions.”

“I wanted to experience what is it like to live in a tiny house. At this property I finally got a chance to do that. The house has peaceful surroundings and everything you need for a couple inside. Just don’t forget your own spoons and forks. Beware of a ladder to the bedroom upstairs. If you are night traveler to a bathroom- it may become a hassle. Also, try not to bump your head in the bedroom. Me and my husband had wonderful stay in this place. I loved those cute, easy to open windows and a……

“The cabin was great! A few little extras for a welcome package. Did not skimp on the towels and bedding. Great decor. Loved it!!!”

“The pond did not look like it did in the picture and it was a disgusting color and did not have a beach walk in area. There was also a bug in the refrigerator and on the floor by the refrigerator and then another bug by the garbage can and there was dog food from previous people that wasn’t picked up also thought it was ridiculous at 830 in the morning there was a mowing crew outside that was woken up to on my vacation and I took pictures of it ”

“The cabin is nestled in the woods at the end of a winding road. Very nice and secluded. Tom, our host was warm and welcoming and respectful of our privacy. My only negative comment is that the place could have been a little cleaner. The bedding, towels, cookware and tableware were all clean. The cabin was a bit dusty. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.”
