Not sure why Expedia rates this as a 4 star hotel but the bedding, towels/bathroom, and overall room feel more like a 3 star hotel. Staff, however, were very nice and courteous. Breakfast was okay…could be better.

Ashton Jambi

We had two rooms and stayed 4 nights on this trip. We had minor issues with the room safe, towels, mini fridge, food orders and sleeping. We woken up every morning at 4AM by loud speakers on several surrounding buildings. I went to the pool twice and had to go to the front desk to request a towel and there were no cushions on the lounge chairs. We stayed here 5 years ago and had a better experience. It just seems like it’s not being maintained or managed properly.

If you ever plan to visit Jambi Indonesia to learn about the History of the Ancient Buddhist Kingdom of Sri Vijaya, one of the best hotel you can stay would be at Aston Jambi Hotel. It is nice and clean. Staff are friendly and competent. The breakfast buffet is good. They even have a swimming pool. In the evening you can visit to roof top bar and catch a great view of the town of Jambi. Have stayed here twice and we were very happy on both occasions. They even prepared breakfast for all of us when we had to leave the hotel at 530am to catch our flight home. So kudos to its management. PS: booked it through expedia @expediamy. Very friendly staff, lots of nice things to do, sky lounge has beautiful view. Great food 😍 The gym could have had more facilities. I felt uncomfortable walking through dinning area to get to pool. Maybe open access from another route.

Could not get the bed I booked even though I checked in well after 2pm because the rooms with this type of bed were not ready. The breakfast was okay. The bed was comfortable. The location was very good and close to a very good restaurant: Aneka Rasa.

It is just ok

It was ok other than the electricity for few times went off in one day. One time even longer for about 10. minutes as they didn't have any back up for electricity in the case of the power shut down from the main source. The bottom line is they are not ready.
