Great Beachfront Location!

Our family had a wonderful stay in Honua Kai. The unit itself was as promised, with incredible ocean views and indoor/outdoor access with the nanowall doors - we could watch the whales and dolphins from the deck!The kitchen was excellent for meal prep and having three bathrooms was a real bonus. The location felt a little less crowded than the nearby resort areas, but you still had everything you needed and easy access to the hustle and bustle if that is your preference. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend for families or multiple couples. Thank you for a wonderful first visit to Maui!

great unit and location

6th floor of Honua Kai is lovely and a perfect setting to watch whales and enjoy a meal with a view. Unit was clean and well appointed and response was good with the 2 issues we had.Property is nice and well kept EXCEPT for the water slide which was closed way too much. Towel machine is GREAT convenience for beach and pool and overall location is awesome. Fee for a late checkout is HIGH on an already costly rental.I am still a 4.5

Amazing views

This is my second time at this resort, the first was 10 years ago almost to the day. I love the island, and the location of the resort is perfect. The unit is well maintained, the views are amazing, and I love the doors that opened fully to make the unit feel even more open. The beach is beautiful and long, and great for walking. The beach set up is a bit pricey (what isn't in Hawaii?) but was worth it for a beach day for the four of us. We did not use the resort pools, but they seemed very nice. Having Duke's on site is convenient for that first evening's dinner after a long flight, before we had a chance to hit the Safeway for groceries. We were walking distance to a food truck lot that had a great variety and good food. One minor negative is the parking spaces, like everywhere in Hawaii, were narrow for the size of most vehicles. It was nice having the underground parking to be able to keep a car in the shade, but getting in and out of spots was not always the easiest. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
