A wonderful stay.

Paridise on the ocean in Kona!!!

If you ever wanted to vacation right on the ocean in an Awesome Tommy Bahama themed condo this is the one. Only walking distance from the heart of Kona this place was Amazing.

Perfect location and tasteful decor

Loved the bamboo themed decor; location and building including other tenants was awesome. Such nice people we met and we really loved the apartment. Watched surfers out front daily and saw a spinner dolphin one day too, jumping multiple times. Great vacation

Kona stay

The property was exactly as listed . The bed was very comfortable. Short walk into restaurants in Kona. With the screen door we listened to the waves. I would stay here again if I return to the big island.

Nice unit.

Great apartment, great resort. I like the east side of the big island better, but if I came back to the west, I'd stay here again! The proximity to the little beach was what made this unit great.

Kona Reef

Lovely condo, incredible view, so close to the ocean. Loved having coffee in the morning on the lanai, watching for humpbacks, saw some as well as spinner dolphins. Well stocked unit. Good location, short walk into town. Would definitely stay again.

Getaway by the ocean

A perfect pre-– holiday getaway spot, in the center of everything. Walking distance into town, to restaurants and shopping. And tasteful vintage Hawaiian feel and thoughtful accommodations. Only real issue was with a sliding patio door that did not slide without two people leaning into the job. Once open, however, breakfast outside with and afternoon relaxation with soothing sound of the waves as a backdrop was heavenly.

The property was awesome. View is amazing. Watching whales breaching from the patio and the nightly sunsets was outstanding. Amazing restaurants within walking distance of property. Most things were close to the property. Kona country club is right down the road a bit if you plan on golfing. Ken if you can DM me. There’s a problem in your future

Nice Oceanfront Stay

The condo is the best remodel/layout in Kona Reef. Really nice with the full HVAC system and up-to-date appliances. It just needs a refresh - new towels, new rugs, new dishes, etc., and a deep clean. I wouldn't say these issues would stop me from staying there, but it hampers the feel of what is otherwise an amazing place!

Beautifully Designed Oceanfront Condo

This is a beautifully appointed condo with oceanfront living! It looks of a professionally designed space with contemporary needs, is appropriately themed and very comfortable. The location of the property is great as it is walking distance to shoppin, restaurants and activities - AND there is plenty of covered parking - great for keeping your car out of the sun. Be sure to watch the sunsets from the lanai! The owners are wonderful, very thoughtful and super responsive about our questions - it was our first time using VRBO. The unit information was perfect and property check-in was a breeze. We loved the unit so much that we cared for it as if it was our own so that it remains in great shape for others to enjoy - we definitely would want to come back to this unit again and again!

My husband and I spent five nights here with our seven year old and loved it. The sunset view was divine. A couple little things didn't work - the screen door came off track and one of the shades had to be manually rolled. But there were so many lovely little things! Excellent Hawaiian music collection, Popeye DVD (my son's favorite), beautiful decor, AC (!!!), awesome hot tub and pool, boogie board to rent from the condo assoc., nice walk to town, shopping bag to use, excellent blender, nice lighting, and local discount at the grocery store with the condo key chain. You will not regret staying here!

Great home base for the adventure of a lifetime.

The Big Island has so much to offer, and this location proved to be a very central location for all of our day trips. We enjoyed eating meals on the lanai while watching surfers and sunsets. (Just be sure you turn off the AC while you sit out there, because it is quite loud.) We loved having the washer/dryer, the covered parking, the large beach towels, and the AC. The shower was a bit of a challenge as the design allows water to cover the floor in front of the toilet, but the office gave us extra towels to soak it up. One suggestion would be to put a mirror in the bedroom, as the only one is over the bathroom sink. I wouldn't suggest trying to put four adults here, as there is not enough storage room, but it would be perfect for two, maybe three.

Perfect view of the ocean !

The room was very nice, decorated with a Bamboo theme. The kitchen was well equipped with everything but food. Washer and dryer available to keep your laundry clean and fresh. The bed was really comfy. The lanai was a favorite place to sit to watch the surfers, parasailors, cruise ships and the waves crash on shore. We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzi. The only problem we had was actually locating the unit when we first arrived as well as trying to locate the best place to park. I am slightly handicapped and specifically chose a ground floor unit, unfortunately there was a small flight of 5 or 6 stairs that I did need to use going to and from the unit. It was not advertised as handicap accessible, I only mention this in case you are like me and assuming a ground floor room would be easy to get to. We would definitely rent this room again.

great location

The location of the condo is amazing, steps to the ocean and a short walk into Kailua. The bed was very comfortable and having the in suite washer and dryer was a nice touch. The kitchen had more of a hotel room feel to it than other VRBO condos we've stayed in. We ate all our meals in the condo due to food restrictions and found the kitchen to be lacking a few basics. Even though there was a dishwasher, we never used it as there wasn't enough cutlery to get through a day without having to hand wash them (only a set of 4 knives, forks and spoons). There were 2 pots, no food storage containers, no plastic or foil wrap, no tea kettle and the coffee maker was very basic with the brewed coffee usually ending up on the counter instead of in the pot. We had an issue with the sliding lanai door being difficult to open when we arrived, but Imi, the manager of the Kona Reef complex coordinated with the owner to have it fixed while we were there. Imi was very helpful and gracious and always had a smile ready. There were no beach chairs or coolers available to take to the beach so we ended up renting from Snorkel Bob's, a block away. The complex was well maintained and clean with a nice pool and BBQ area. The beach at the end of the property is not suitable for swimming but a great place to watch surfers and boogie boarders. We saw some amazing sunsets from the lanai.

Inexpensive condo option in the heart of Kona

This condo was in a great location to experience the hustle and bustle of Kona. We decided to forgo a traditional resort on the Big Island because we had a ton of excursions planned around the island. The location was a great, centralized spot to call home base for five days. Tons of dining and drinking options around -- but Kona is definitely more tourist trap than relaxed luxury resort. The view from the lanai was incredible. We were able to hear the roar of the ocean at all times -- extraordinarily relaxing. The pool was nice, and the BBQ areas were used quite a bit by guests. The condo itself was a bit dark. The eastern facing side of the building where the bedroom is didn't get much natural light because of the garden area. It was actually nice to have the darkness because of trying beat the jet lag. Living area was comfortable and nicely appointed, but there isn't a lot of room for entertaining more than about two or three people. My biggest complaint was the quality of the bed. The bed squeaked loudly with every movement, and the pillows were absolutely terrible. There were also tons of mosquitos in the condo -- I was eaten alive the entire time I was there. You can see the remains of squashed mosquitos on the ceiling in the bathroom. Better than cockroaches -- which we only saw dead one of in the outdoor common area -- but certainly a nuisance. Not sure we'd stay there again, but would certainly recommend to others. Thanks for allowing us to stay. We had a wonderful time on the Big Island!!

This condo was nicely appointed, and included CD mix’s that you could play on the stereo! The location was great, and you could walk to restaurants. We loved having the kitchen, and was able to cook multiple dinners, with the well supplied kitchen. The view was beautiful, with the sound of soothing ocean while we sat in the living room, or outside on the porch. The host Kenneth, was super responsive to any questions we had. My husband and I highly recommend this rental, and will be back again!
