"Not worth it. Way over priced! We stayed one night. Staff are very nice. But the place is of a by gone era. It’s old but not in a charming way. Showers in the onsen are cold and you have to wait for many minutes in order for hot water to come out. The rooms and elevators are old. the outdoor hotspring is on the top floor with no facilities (you have to go downstairs first and shower) and no real view to speak of. Top Kanai Hotel Reviews

aduminoyu onyado nonomatsumoto

10/10 Excellent

"Clean room, shoes off policy where lockers at front desk store items, breakfast at a cost of 2500yen per person was amazing and worth a try at least once however it is quite early in the morning. Free vegetarian ramen noodles from 9:30pm to 11pm was a bonus along with the icecream after public baths. Laundry washing is free and dryer service is 100 yen per 30 minutes. Close to station and walking distance to Matsumoto Castle."

Mercure Nagano Matsushiro Resort & Spa

8/10 Good

"There were some maintenance issues with the hotel. The lights on the elevator button on the 9th floor did not illuminate, my room lights were also a little trouble. There were a couple of bugs in my room as well. The check in staff was not as accommodating as I would have liked. However, the hot spring was great. The hotel bus driver and restaurant staff were very friendly."
