“Pros: I liked the location. There was easy access to Puna, Volcano NP, and Hilo. The owner gave me a 5 minute spiel on the property. Everything was in working order. Cons: I stayed at 4 different VRBO properties during my stay on the Big Island. All property owners except this one provided directions, check in instructions and check out instructions. You won't get that. And the directions are not intuitive at all. So I will do the property owner's job for him and hopefully save you frustration……

“Even though the house was charming, it was not adequately described on the website. From the pictures I would not have known the second bedroom was an upstairs loft that you had to climb a ladder to access. Luckily we are all fairly mobile and can climb a ladder!Also, is having a frig an amenity? It wasn’t listed as an amenity, but I thought that would be standard with your location. “I booked this property less than 24 hours before my arrival. The hist was very responsive and accommodating. The house is just as pictured. We got plenty of use out of the hammock out back. It was so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed. The air conditioner in the master was nice, although with a nice breeze, it wasn't needed all night. Would definitely stay again. ”

“The treehouse was pretty cool. It's in a quiet neighborhood a block or so from the ocean. At night the place turns into a jungle experience with all the sounds you might expect (frogs, birds, etc). The grounds is beautiful and the place is very unique. It reminded me of our Northwoods cabin but with all the luxuries of a modern home (ac, Internet, huge shower, nice kitchen). The only things I didn't like were the gate, which they ask you to close and lock. It was just kind of a pain. The water……

“The home was clean and beds were comfortable. The house was warm and air conditioning shuts off every couple of hours all night long. Which makes for a lot of waking up through the night.
