The rental company did a good job with communication and helped with an issue we had early in our stay. The main issues we had were that the place is pretty dated and could use some upkeep and renovations. In addition, there was a lot of dust, spider webs, and stained furniture and bedding. The owners should put a little elbow grease and TLC into the place. We did manage to enjoy ourselves and the elevator was extremely helpful.

Scarborough Square Convenient

An easy bike/walk to shopping. Quite a distance to the public access beach. Older furniture & bedding that has passed its "Best By" date. Nice overall layout that worked well for multiple adult children & their partners. Maintenence personnel were *very* responsive and kept our vacation on track.

Family Christmas Gift

Christmas morning 2022 our family got together for the usual gift exchange. After all these years together coming up with a gift idea was difficult. So I decided that a beach vacation in the summer would be the big surprise. I had tee shirts designed, Duck July 4th, for everyone. It was a happy group when everyone opened their gift. We had been getting together for a summer week at various beaches for years and years. I made one mistake this year and that was not checking on the location of the house and beach access. While the house was well received, not being able to access the beach was not. Having to drive down to Kitty Hawk made what used to be a beach vacation a pool at home vacation. I will never make that mistake again.

Good property, walking distance to downtown Duck. Further drive to the beach

Overall the property was nice. The cleanliness could have been better; we found some areas that were not cleaned. The property is older. The upper deck showed wear. One of the planks needed to be boarded down, was a safety issue. The pool had a broken pipe under the water near the deeper end that was sharp and cut our feet. That should be addressed. However, the pool was well maintained by the pool guy daily. There was construction across the street where the workers played music at 7 30am. But the house provided the basics, lots of room, and was sufficient for our family of 10. Also the den/bedroom downstairs with the bunkbeds doesn't have a door so not a bedroom. The grill is charcoal not gas as listed. Walking distance to downtown Duck. About a 10 minute drive to the parking lot for the beach. Our rental provided a 350 credit for beach gear which was a nice addition. Would rent again with seaside vacations but more than likely at another property.
