  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great Family Vacation spot!

Great time with family in Duck! The rental company was easy to work with and were there to answer questions throughout. The house was spacious and had a good floor plan. Bonus game room in the basement was awesome! We enjoyed the pool and being so close to the beach. Would book this location again!

Great family vaca

Property was clean and comfortable. Slightly tired, but nice enough. Make sure you read what items to bring with you as they don’t supply a lot. Washer and dryer in the master bath was odd but functional. Game room was a garage in the basement and feels like it. Overall good place to stay and would recommend it. Duck Deli is convenient.

Great place

We had a great family vacation at the 3 Fish Inn. The house was great, lots of space for the 9 of us. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The pool was refreshing. Only downside was we would have liked to have been able to park at the house prior to check-in in order to use the beach.. we got there at noon had lunch but then had to drive down to Corolla public beach access.. It didn't appear that any cleaning crew people were at the house when we drove by..

Nice Gem

Whole family of 11 stayed for a week. Pool was a wonderful addition and the basement play room was a hit for the grands. House is older but remodeled kitchen was fully stocked with open floor plan. The beach is very close in walking distance. Will stay there again!
Local wildlife came to the pool.
