My tablet computer worth $800 was stolen from bag left in the hotel room no. 301 on 18 Jan. 2024 when I left for 2 hours to Kolkata airport to reclaim my missing bag from Air India. I realised only when I was returning to Mumbai at Kolkata airport in security screening. As I had no time to go back personally, I phoned Hotel Manager who instantly refused any such incident and did not call me back, when I told him to enquire with his staff. Also the same day earlier, he had told me that his people had entered my room with their key IN MY ABSENCE, to leave 2 small bottles of water, when I had left room for 2 hours. This incident left very bad image of the hotel with me as I did not expect it for hotel booked through EXPEDIA and paid in $.

They apparently overbooked themselves and didn't acknowledge our bookings made from a while ago and left us stranded in an alien city. The staff was extremely lazy and unhelpful and simply ignored our predicament. I suspect they got requests for room with offers that were higher than what we booked through Expedia and they just chose to ignore our bookings. I hope the Expedia platform atleast looks into this practice.

Disappointed

Bathroom tap leaking, both to and from rooms. Did not get some of the tv channels, although they were free from the cable company. Food was made hot even after told them not to. Had to for tea, coffee, soap and toilet roll, not enough in quantity. Sugar free sugar was not available, which was urgently needed. Not enough of bottled water and tissues in the room.

Two of us stayed overnight for a flight next early next morning. The Hotel is new and clean and fresh. Bed, linen, toilets and corridors were all nice and clean and of good standard. No smell, no bugs. Only small issue was the room bit small in size, but OK for one night. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. They agreed to give us packed fruit breakfast to take with us at 5 AM, but forgot in a rush. The staff helped us with loading the heavy luggage.They helped us to book the App based Taxi at 5 AM for just under Rs 200 to the airport. When we tried to book the previous evening the Taxis were costing around 1500 in advance. So book taxi in morning through Reception. Only takes 10 minutes to airport in morning. We did not try the food. Many restaurants near the Hotel also. We will use this Hotel again for next trip in Kolkata. I hope they maintain the standard.

Hotel location is not clear in map to book cab in ola or uber and landmark is also not helpful.Name also having issue It's not Treebo trend its only the crystal hotel.Hotel WIfi is not good and TV set top box is not recharged.
