7 nights oceanside

We enjoyed the location and the cleanliness of the property. Very comfortable for the two of us. We liked the small size of the overall property and listening to the ocean at night. The heated pool was right next to the ocean and never crowded. It’s a very quick stroll to the beach to see the turtles come in at sunset. Highly recommend.

Turtle paradise

Great property with great location. We could sit on the deck and watch turtles, dolphins and whales all day long. A very short walk to two great beaches.

Turtles from the lanai

The lanai is the main reason to rent this condo. You can look down and see turtles swimming below. It also has a great view of sunset.

Amazing stay!

We loved everything about this condo! The vibe of this place was very nice. Bright, well kept interior with beautiful artwork by the owner. The outside lani was just AMAZING! We really had a hard time breaking ourselves away from the waves and watching all the sea turtles that were feeding below. It was a great place to just hang out and take in the view of the ocean and waves. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A perfect place for 2 people to enjoy the Poipu area. Condo has everything you need to stay home and enjoy all the turtles off your oversized lanai. If you venture out to the local beaches everything you need for the day is also available. Access to pool is perfect and sound/sights of the ocean is amazing. Overall perfect place on the South shore, can’t wait to visit again.

Surreal Connection with Ocean

This property is stunning. The lanai literally overhangs the pounding surf beneath you. Turtles visit constantly, (though never enter the interior of you unit without first politely knocking). The lanai is very spacious and sunny. It’s location right next to the pool is ideal. The interior living space is not large, but is perfectly sized for two. Definitely a place to return to. Two weeks was not long enough.

Sea Turtles & Crashing Waves !

Listening to the waves break along the shoreline made for the most relaxing stay, it didn’t hurt that the bed was incredibly comfortable. Sparkling heated pool just feet from the ocean and the a private patio area reserved just for this unit and I believe one other unit as well. What a fantastic place ! Plan on staying here from now on. **** the owner, ( Parker), Provided the greatest recommendations list about a week or so before check in. I took advantage of many of the recommendations and am so happy that I did ! Thank you ! Mark

My favorite condo in Poipu.

The view is unmatched. The location is great for the south and west sides of Kauai. The unit is small but two people will have no problems. Because the kitchen is small, there isn’t an abundance of cooking appliances and utensils, but given a little inventiveness, you should be able to cook most things you want. I never found tongs for the grill so grilling shrimp was not easy, so just get fish or meat and the spatula will do the job. The bed and chairs are comfy. The main attraction is the beautiful lanai which you share with the adjacent unit. All in all we loved staying here and will book again given the chance!

Beautiful View

The property is very nice and the view is breathtaking. I would have liked to give it 5 stars but I couldn’t for a couple of issues. My husband and I are seniors and stairs were not ideal for us. We also had trouble with the parking as there were too many cars for the amount of parking spaces. We were never able to park near our condo.

Better than imagined!

This place is AMAZING. All of the photos and descriptions don't do it justice, and I would choose to stay here again whenever in Kauai. It's within walking distance to amazing beaches and views. The property itself is bigger than the pictures show, with plenty of room to stretch out for a couple. And the deck is the highlight, we spent every morning watching the sun rise, and every evening watching the sun set. Also saw too many whales to count, as well as groups of dolphins. Binoculars were available if you didn't bring your own. They also had a closet full of beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, etc...) I miss listening to the waves crash while drifting off to sleep, and can't wait to go back. When there was an issue with one of the windows malfunctioning, Parker quickly had it fixed with no issues, and made sure we had everything we needed. NOTE: In case you have mobility issues, be sure you can make it down the final flight of stairs to the condo, as there is no elevator and they are relatively steep.

Truly unique, incredible unit!

We had a great stay here. The interior design is very pleasing and comfortable for a couple, the deck cantilevered over the ocean is breathtaking. Whale and turtle activity was almost constant right before our eyes. It would be a 5-star review, except for one thing future guests may wish to consider. The deck is immediately outside the living space and bedroom windows, and is shared with the adjacent unit. During our stay, these neighboring guests were on the deck almost constantly, which frankly made us feel awkward about having doors and windows open - the opposite of the romantic privacy we expected. We did have three of five days with no neighbors on the deck, which was magical.

Perfect in Every Way

We stayed on Kauai for 10 days, splitting our time between 102B @ Poipu Shores (Lanai Honu) and the Grand Hyatt and our experience at Poipu Shores was definitely our favorite. We fell in love with 102B the minute we opened the door. It's just as nice as the photographs show and had everything we needed for our stay, including great quality Tommy Bahama beach chairs, coolers, etc. for beach outings. I was surprised at how quiet the condo is with the doors & windows shut, given the fact that you are right on the ocean. It was so peaceful and the bed was quite comfy. Our view was spectacular, with lots of sea turtles in the water below from sunrise to sunset. We had the lanai to ourselves for 3 days and then shared it with a neighboring couple for the other 3. We were rarely there at the same time and it didn't bother us to have them crossing in front of our place the few times they went to the swimming pool. The outdoor furniture needs a bit of TLC as 2 or 3 of the chairs were broken, but we still had enough seating and there's a lovely rocking chair on the lanai that I really enjoyed. I imagine it's a struggle to maintain wood outdoor furniture when you're right by the ocean! There's a nice supply of books to learn about the island and reef fish as well as a binder of helpful information & suggestions for restaurants. Poipu Shores is perfectly located and they do a great job of keeping everything looking nice. We enjoyed meeting other guests & owners there as we gathered to take in the magnificent sunsets. We enthusiastically recommend 102B at Poipu Shores.

A bit of paradise

This property was just what I was looking for and it did not disappoint. The condo was very clean and decorated very nice. The owners provide many books and information about the area and what to do. We spent many hours on the lanai watching the turtles right below the deck, watching whales and even a pod of dolphins. To top it off the sunsets were not to be missed. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful ocean view

This was a cool place to stay but it was quite outdated for the price. It had old couches, bed, appliances, etc. you couldn’t see out the windows because they were too cloudy. The blind in the bedroom was broken so there weren’t good views from your bed. For the price it was I thought they could have put some money into renovating/ updating some of the amenities inside!

Poipu Shores

Excellent communication with Parker the property manager nice unit, but non functional air conditioning. We were offered a move for the last two nights. Pretty sticky for the first 4 days and nights. The second accommodation was a huge upgrade! Appreciated the effort to correct the problem. Would definitely return to the second condo! .

Amazing location but…

Giving this five stars for the location and uniqueness of the experience. Hearing the waves crashing was soothing and being able to watch the sea turtles play was cool. Feedback: needs a deep clean, dirt on the top of the fridge, dusty vents, etc. this would be a world class property if it was cleaner.

Magical!

My spouse and I had a fabulous 5 night stay at this property. If you like sea turtles, holy cow is this the place for you! You can spot turtles right below the deck pretty much all day, every day. I must have taken 1,000 pics and videos. We spent time on the deck every single day, it's truly unique and makes this the best unit in Poipu Shores. The pool is small but deep, and so clean - they literally cleaned it every morning we were there. We were there in August when it was HOT and the pool was never crowded. The unit itself is dated, but so are most rentals in Kauai. The appliances are old but work fine. The AC (which we very much needed in August) worked great. You have to have it running all afternoon and night, but we could turn it off in the morning. If you want to hang out in a really nice looking condo for extended periods of time, it's probably not for you, but for us it was perfect since we were gone during the day and spent most of the time on the deck anyway. I can't say enough about Parker the property manager. He was so helpful and communicative, right from the start when I accidentally made a booking mistake. He checks in just the right amount of times to make sure your stay is going well, and answers questions so quickly. We would absolutely stay in this unit again!

Waves and Turtles

This has to be one of the best units in the building with the amazing deck (shared with the adjacent unit only) overlooking a cove of crashing waves and swimming sea turtles. The sound of the waves put me to sleep every night. Loved discovering and watching all the turtles swimming, feeding, and surfing right off the deck. The unit is well appointed with what you need and expect. The queen size bed is very comfortable. The pool next door is nice with the perfect water temperature. The owner is very communicative to ensure your stay is going well. Only advice, and this applies not only for the condo but for Kauai in general, don't rent a huge SUV like we did. The spaces are tight. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Perfect Oceanfront Stay

Location for this place was unbeatable. The lanai is as good as it gets and is very close to any activity you would want to do on South shore in Kauai. Place felt private and accessible. Perfect for 2 people. Sea turtles were viewable from the lanai 24/7 for the 5 nights we stayed. We would absolutely stay again here if we got the chance!

Poipu Shores

It is always "the people" who make the difference and the staff at Poipu Shores are really good people. Not only did they do everything you would expect from a staff they went above and beyond that to help us when we were forced to deal with a very unfortunate issue outside of accomadations. The location of the property is very central to all of the Poipu beaches and Koloa.

Like sleeping over the Ocean?

This property was just as advertised. The deck is literally over the Ocean and the turtles are there EVERY day multiple times. You have to like the roar of the ocean as it is right there but it is a great experience! Once in a lifetime experience. Go for it.

Amazing Stay!
