“The old concept of offering genuine “service with a smile” is a rare thing these days but is alive and well in the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra. From first contact, the standard of customer service was exceptional. A 2-hour flight delay late made us worry that the free hotel transport would be long gone but as we exited Accra’s brand spanking new Terminal 3, it was great to see our name on a board held by the Regency’s friendly and approachable driver. “I was a little concerned since the hotel was so reasonably priced. But the service there was great. Everyone went out of their way to be as accommodating as possible. The accommodations are basic but clean. Breakfast in the restaurant was fine. Always ate dinner out so I can't comment on that. For those who have travelled in West Africa, the electricity was 24/7, as was wifi. showers were always hot. I realize that may not seem like much, but in West Africa you can't take those things……

“The airport transfer service was good and also the buffet breakfast. The air conditioning unit in my room was very loud and the room felt a little bit damp.”

“My Mother and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The Customer service was very good and the room was very clean and comfortable. We were in a convenient location for City Tours too which was handy. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good although there were always a few things that were unavailable, especially desserts. All of the staff were very polite to us and made our experience better. They also provide shuttle for the airport which was perfect. We will definitely consider this……

“Very clean property. I was worried about the a/c but I ended up needing to wear pajamas to be not cold. 😀 lots of restaurants in the area and safe to walk. Short taxi ride to the beach. I’d stay there again if I go back to Accra!!👍👍”

“The room was clean and spacious, with a good queen size bed. I asked for a quiet room, and the hotel made sure my request was fullfilled. Our KLM flight was at 10.15pm, and we wanted late check out at 6pm. Usually hotels in Ghana would charge a full night for such late check out, but the hotel gave us a very good offer. We are going to stay at this hotel next time we are in Accra. ”

“The rising phoenix or Akuma Village (how the locals call it) is a simple and lovely Place to stay. The Beach is just 1 Min away. The Staff is verry kind and the food is fresh & excellent. It is a place where you can feel a lot of Love amongst the people. We had the luck to participate at a Reggae Soundsystem Dance with local artists to proof their talents. What a Vibration and high Energy! ”
