Loved this little hotel with private bungalows in the jungle. We had a private tub outside of our steps down from the porch surrounded by the jungle. The restaurant was good and they had a fun happy hour at the bar. It was in walking distance to a grocery store and restaurants. They also had a short little hiking trail to the river.

Everything was perfect for my group. The rooms were clean, the restaurant was delicious, the staff was helpful and friendly. Kenny at the bar was a highlight of our trip due to his positive outlook and great drinks to unwind. Additionally, the price and location was great.

Great property and rooms! Felt like we (family of four - 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 15) had a private space in the jungle. The hot tub was a nice treat after adventures in the area - ziplining (Sky Adventures was great), the waterfall (super close to this hotel), Arenal hike and hot springs (we went to Ecotermale). There was also a great restaurant right next door called Chante Verde.

We had not so great experience here. We stayed here for 3 nights but our room was infested with bugs. We had our floor filled with hundreds of flying bugs that would come from the cracks of the wooden walls into the room at night. So much so that the room floor needed to be cleaned twice or thrice a day to take those dead bugs away into the garbage. The staff tried to take care of it but it did not work. The jacuzzi in the back patio was extremely slow to fill (like in 20 min the tub was not even third full so I ended un abandoning). The water was also not very warm when compared to temperature of the in the room shower. So I guess they try to reduce warm water usage outside. The front desk person (Victor) at the time of our checkout made some rude comments which was totally not warranted.

The room was nice and the food at the restaurant was great as well. We had an early morning excursion and they helped make sure we had our breakfast before we had to leave. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the amenities or take a walk down to the river. It was noisy with it being so close to the main road - making it hard for a good sleep if you are sensitive to noise. Overall I recommend it.

Our stay at Rancho Cera Azul was fantastic! Perched just on the edge of town, we enjoyed our own private cabin with a beautiful, secluded back porch and hot tub! The cabin was beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and thoughtful details throughout. The grounds are stunning, filled with lush gardens and a lovely short hiking trail leading down to the river out back. The bar and restaurant were top-notch, the food was amazing! The staff were all wonderful—special thanks to William and Isaac for making our stay even more memorable.
