The Albula and Bernina lines of the Rhaetian Railway have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2008. Landscape and railway merge: in wide radii, ingenious engineering structures, in serpentine lines through rugged valleys. Village description: La Punt Chamues-ch lies at 1700 metres above sea level, at the foot of the Albula Pass in the sunny high valley of the Upper Engadine and is easily accessible by train and car. The Engadine farmhouses and patrician houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries give the village a very special charm, and the old patricians already knew why they built their houses and palaces here: The sun-drenched La Punt Chamues-ch is not only strategically located at the foot of the Albula, but is also idyllically situated on the Inn. They tower majestically over the village: richly decorated farmhouses and stately patrician homes from the 16th and 17th centuries.
