"Beautiful sunsets over the lake! The host was helpful with a few questions we had and the property was clean. It is an older home but nicely updated. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment but bring everything you need otherwise. The only things provided were salt, pepper, spices and olive oil. There are no condiments or coffee, etc. We very much enjoyed our time here. Thank you to the hosts."

"This was a lovely cottage with a great location. The dock out back was great and so convenient for our boat that we brought with us. The water toys provided were put to good use. Across the road was direct access to walk out to the famous sandbar. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The new grill was great for cooking and the fire pit near the water was awesome. Minor issues include 1 parking spot directly in front of the cottage and due to the heavy traffic on Crystal Beach Rd, it is hard to get in/out without getting flipped off by drivers speeding by. Also, the property listed a dishwasher but we didn't find one. The bedrooms are both upstairs and the stairs are a little narrow but navigable with care. Last, the toilet is a small round RV size toilet upstairs. If you're 6' 6" tall, it presents a challenge. However, overall, these are very minor issues. Being near this beautiful lake and on the river, with a boat dock far exceeds any of these issues. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend."

"We had an amazing stay at the Torch Lake House! The home was nestled in the backyard trees which made the stay feel real cozy. The inside of the house had a wonderful clean, open, and light feel that was very inviting. Every detail was attended to that allowed for a wonderful experience. It was in close walking distance to the beautiful Torch lake. We even enjoyed using the two kayaks provided. And in the front yard, we grilled up some delicious fish we caught on Lake Michigan. There were plenty of boat rental companies around the lake too. Do try to make reservations ahead of time! Thank you for your wonderful accommodations you provided for our family!!"

"We had such a wonderful stay at Torch River Shack! The cabin had everything we needed and more—cozy, clean, and thoughtfully stocked. The view was absolutely beautiful, the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Our host was so kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. "Ryan and Joy have hit it out of the park on this waterfront renovation. (Meagan great job at facilitating the rental management process, Adam thanks for the suggestions and help over the week) Everything you need for an exceptional "Caribbean of the North" experience is at your finger tips. Boat owners this is the one for you, your watercraft will be 10 steps away in a covered boat house on calm water. I can't stress enough about how convenient this was for our family, NO stress of waiting your turn, battling wind, putting cover on/off ...etc. Just jump in and go!Location, you are in the heart of the Torch lake experience...world renowned sand bar is across the street and 10 minutes away by your boat that is out the back door. You'll have two reserved parking spots and a convenient place down the road to park your boat trailer. Ok, lastly... I mentioned the renovation, it goes above and beyond expectations. The 2 bedroom 1 bath works well for 6 people, just have to remind the teenagers to respect others with the bathroom time!!! Let's be honest you don't go to Torch Lake to hangout inside, right. So, back to discussing the outside spaces. The boat house, "priceless" if you love being on the water. The owners also have pontoons for rent if you don't have your own. The rooftop deck was one our favorite hangout spots, we ate, drank and played cards up there at the covered bar area. If you like being outside and want your boat in the water this one is for you!"

"Nice sized house for a big family (we had 2 adults, 5 teens and a toddler and fit well). The house had older amenities (bathroom, kitchen, furniture, carpet, grill) but that was fine with us (and in some was preferred so we didn’t have to worry about being overly tidy). It was surely whimsical and layout was unique. The price seemed steep but then again we had a hard time finding anything big enough for us near torch lake, so maybe price was correctly aligned to the market). The backyard is peaceful and beautiful and we appreciated that there were canoes, life jackets, and a fire pit. Our college aged sons were looking forward to fishing but had zero luck on Skegmog (perhaps bad timing or not the right equipment). Loved being close to Torch Lake (we rented pontoons on two separate days - it’s quite a long boat ride from the house to Torch so unless doing a multi day rental you are best off renting a boat launching on Torch). The house has billiards, Pac-Man, and several other fun games which were great to have on rainy days and in the evenings after a long day outside. Kitchen was well equipped (small dishwasher, so hand washed most). We would definitely come back! "
