“Das Meeresrauschen war vom Zimmer aus zu hören und das gesamte Haus hat einen tollen Charme. Die schönste und besonderste Unterkunft unserer Cornwall Reise. Man fühlt sich wie daheim und es ist alles sauber gewesen. Es wurde erst vor kurzem renoviert. Man teilt sich die Küche bzw das ganze Haus mit Shelley und ihrem süßen Hund. Parken ging ohne Probleme vor der Tür. Das Community Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen: Müsli, Scones, frische Croissants, Obst, … Im Bad bräuchte es……

“Located close to the beautiful Southern coastline, this superb small hotel is a perfect central location for a trip. Many scenic paths are at a walkable distance (5 km to 10 km of moderate difficulty will allow you to see many beautiful sights.) Roy and Jayne are the consummate hosts. They help coordinate your arrival in advance, since the location is a bit remote. They cook an excellent breakfast, and take a keen interest in your plans for your stay. “Ugh, what a disaster! So, I booked this place for two nights, right? Get there, and the main door to the key lockbox is jammed shut. Called the host like fifteen times, and nada—no answer. Had to scramble to find another place 'cause my girlfriend's pregnant, and we couldn't just hang around. To top it off, they wouldn't give me a refund! Had to fight it through my bank. Seriously, avoid this place like the plague. No one answers, and it feels like a total scam. ”

“The room was clean and the staff were very helpful. We stayed in the disabled access room which was very good. The only thing we would say is the the toilet is very low for a disabled person, even with the grab bars. ”

“Beautiful location for this really special place to stay. We had two night here. Although we didn’t have great weather, it hardly altered as the hotel has lots of cosy places to sit and look out on the truly stunning gardens. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Thank you to whoever found my husbands watch and called us so we were not too far away to come back for it! Another highlight is the hotel’s own soap products which smell amazing and are available to buy. Sadly they had run out……

“Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help.”

“Breakfast has been scaled down in selection, quality & service and seemed disorganised. Also, as a vegan, there is very little available on the buffet table though I acknowledge they offer a cooked vegan breakfast which is good if you want hot. The granola which I like had run out & I couldn't find a member of staff free to inform them so went without. It would be a thoughtful touch if biscuits in the room were dairy & egg free just to cater fr a wider clientele. ”
