This spot has very special significance to the Modoc and other tribes that used to live in this area of California. Petroglyphs cover the face of steep rock face. One may hike to the top of it for a good view of the neighboring Tulelake Wildlife Refuge. Lava Beds National Monument not only has interesting lava tube caves and landscape but a lot of more modern California history.
