The hotel and staff were very good, however the restaurant being closed was a big disappointment. Had I known in advance I would haven chosen an alternative.

The staff are brilliant at this hotel big shout out to Jordan shame they are letting him go he is a star and deserves more always goes above and beyond will be sad when he is not there.

Fantastic service, great value but oor facilities.

First and foremost special mention to the staff who were very, very helpful. In particular Marie who went out if her way to get it right, a real credit! Unfortunately this place is let down with poor facilities, no restaurant, gym etc and rooms which were unbearably hot to sleep In.

Great western or Bestest western

Friendly and welcoming team from reception to restaurant and breakfast. Room was spacious clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and good value for money. Location was perfect for my needs too

Very disappointed that the kitchen was out of action therefore no cooked breakfast or evening food available, Although the accommodation was acceptable my request for a walk-in shower at the time of booking did not happen. Clearly this is a venue requiring more staff.

Good place for an overnight close to A1M.

Great stop for an overnight. Friendly efficient staff covering lots of jobs cheerfully. Nothing else round about but the food was good. Sunday night stop so very quiet.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, while checking out we spoke to two staff members, they were incredibly sweet and friendly - you could tell they genuinely care about you having the best stay possible. The facilities could use some updates but everything is clean and comfortable.

Stayed for one night. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Around half hour by car from York City Centre. Hotel room was a little tired but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was worth the money, plenty of variety and a full cooked breakfast if required. Unlimited drinks both hot and cold. Staff friendly. Would recommend.

Broke our journey here as it was half way home and accepted dogs. It’s very well located, just off the A1. Staff on reception were absolutely lovely and the room suited us (and the dogs) perfectly.

Would I stay again. No. Probably back in the day it was a good hotel. But not now. No dinner available. View from window is poor. One person doing a good job running the hotel. But in life you have to try things yourself. For me I will not be staying here again.

Hotel reception was clean & tidy , the staff were really friendly & welcoming . The room was spotless , the shower wasn’t very good but it had a nice deep bath which was nice. The view from our room was over some kind of commercial yard - look awful & grotty. The main thing that concerned me was there was windows but then there was another window which was screwed round the original window so there was no way to open the window for fresh air , let alone anyway to escape if there was a fire in the hallway without smashing 2 windows. The room felt quite stuffy & there wasn’t even a fan but some old style air / heat conditioning.

Sorry give this a miss

I will start by saying the staff were fabulous but that is where my good report ends. How this place is classed as a Best Western Plus is a mystery. The room, whilst spacious and clean, was beige and unappealing. My view was of a rubbish tip with corrugated metal containers dotted around. The walls were not particularly thick so everything could be heard. The "restaurant" (I use the word loosely) was awful. The choice was extremely limited,with no healthy options that I could see. I ordered the chicken burger with salad which was basically a few lettuce leaves and a quartered tomato. No dressing at all. No condiments except for ketchup and brown sauce. Breakfast was slightly better in that they cooked it to order which was nice. The poached eggs were perfect but they got the toast wrong and the bread and calibre of ingredients was poor. Considering this was not a budget hotel, a BW Plus, I expected everything to be better than what was there. I would never stay again.

Staff were excellent - personable and efficient. Nice room - good size and decor. Facilities were fine but we didn’t use all of them. The disappointing factors were being charged to park at the hotel - couldn’t find this in the hotel booking! - and no one had cleaned the fridge - someone’s food left overs in a plastic tub!

The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Lovely to have a fridge in yhe room. Staff were very helpful & friendly. A lovely one night stay whilst attending a wedding party. £5 parking fee, not excessive but no mention about this when booking. Might as well just add £5 to the room rate and not have those unsightly signs everywhere.
