Beautiful location, so peaceful
We love coming to the area and this house is just wonderful - cool inside when the weather was extra hot. We timed the stay for the July 14th celebrations and vide-grenier which was extra fun to see so many people out and about! Dominique met us at the house, let us in, and gave us her phone number in case we needed anything while we were there. Would definitely recommend - the area also now has a 4G phone signal so I had to disconnect my phone from data to stay away from work emails :D :D We'll be back again!

Another enjoyable stay
As before, we really enjoyed staying at this property. It is in a beautifully quiet location but still within easy access of other attractions. However, this year, because of COVID 19 most of the time was spent lounging at the property to recharge our batteries. The weather was superb which helped with this. We shall be back.

Great area for walking, lively canal
We were making a return visit to this lovely property to enjoy it in the autumn. Again we walked along the Canal du Nivernais and also went bike riding (there are eight bikes at the property). The property is beautifully appointed - it lacks for nothing in the way if appliances, there is even an ice cream maker, a bread maker and an electric egg boiler if needed! We will definitely be back as we love the area and this is such a lovely property. Plenty of room (it sleeps ten no problem)

Beautiful house in a tranquil location
We spent a few days here in August when the weather had cooled a little bit - high 20s rather than the 35 of the previous week - which was perfect for us. It meant that we could spend time relaxing on the patio in the sunshine and have barbecues without it being overbearing. The house seems to stay cool whatever the weather though! The house has pretty much everything that we could ask for - my children could go for walks along the canal in the afternoons and evening to get some exercise, while we could relax and make the most of being somewhere quiet and remote. The nearby campsite had their first international food festival for two nights with live music and plenty of choice of food (Indian, pizza, Dutch, Panini, steak...) which was a good chance to mingle a bit as well (details of what events they have are on their website: https://www.lebarrage.fr/) We tended to get food when we were out and about - Moulins Engilbert has a good supermarket and when we were in nearby Chateau Chinon we found they have a large Lidl which was good for a bigger shop. We also ate out in Moulins Engilbert one night where our stumbling French still managed to get us a three course meal and drinks! Overall a lovely stay, a great place to chill and relax, and we'll hopefully come back next year :)

A truly relaxing home away from home
I spent a few lovely quiet days here with my grandson, during a spell of wonderful hot weather. We spent time relaxing on the large patio in the sunshine as well at going for walks along the Nivernais Canal which is extremely close by. The house stayed beautifully cool despite the outside heat, so when it got too hot outside we could make use of the English TV or DVDs (or the French TV in the kitchen!) to relax. The hot weather enabled us to have two barbecues in the evening and we ate out on the patio. The house has every possible amenity to make the stay very comfortable. Although the village does not have any shops itself, Moulins Englilbert is only about 5km away and has a good supermarket, pharmacy, butcher etc which provided all the daily shopping that we needed. The Lac des Setons is not too far away, where we could hire pedaloes/boats , and could swim if we wanted to. Although WiFi is not available within the property, it is readily accessible at the nearby campsite, which also has a restaurant (with a themed evening on a Thursday). I found the website www.lebarrage.fr excellent and particularly helpful, with details of walks, restaurant, nearby attractions etc etc.

Gite agréable pour 3 couples avec enfants mais pour 5 couples cest pas top . Tres bon rapport qualité/prix .petit village sympathique. Propreté nickel . Manque de grands plats et autre vaisselle pour 10 adultes . Merci Dominique de nous avoir prêté des grands plats . La télé dans le salon en anglais !!!!! On voulais voir un match .oui dans cuisine tres petite tv . Mais pas pratique .un grand frigidaire au niveau de la terrasse est nécessaire. Pas le petit . Sinon nous avons passé un tres bon we de 4jours . Et merci le voisin pour les boules de petanques .

Bon séjour
Très bon accueil. Nous avons eu un léger problème à notre arrivée car la personne chargée de l'accueil n'a pas été prévenue par la plateforme de notre location et n'a pas pu chauffer la maison comme prévue. Dominique a tout de même su rebondir à ce manquement en se rendant tout de suite disponible. Location confortable, complète. Attention ! une petite marche située à l'étage dans le couloir accédant aux chambres à gauche n'est pas signalée et n'est pas éclairée correctement. Elle a provoquée une chute d'un de nos amis, sans grave conséquence, heureusement.Très bon séjour.

Excellent séjour dans le village de mon enfance . La maison de John est typique ,chaleureuse, acueillante, confortable, très bien équipée . La literie de très bonne qualité . John est un hôte qui répond très rapidement , très sympathique et très arrangeant . Merci à Dominique pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité . Nous avons tous été ravi d’être à Panneçot . Une maison chaleureuse
Nous avons passé plusieurs jours à 10 à 3 familles dans cette maison où on se sent comme chez soi grâce à la décoration, aux meubles et au matériel disponible. C'est comme un échange de maison, très loin donc d'une location de type "AirBnb" avec du mobilier IKEA très terne. C'était en hiver et il faisait froid dehors et il pleuvait. Les 2 poêles ont bien chauffé la maison et nous étions contents d'être tous ensemble pour manger et jouer. Vigilance aux escaliers pour ceux qui les craindraient. La maison est plus sympathique en réalité que sur les photos. Aucun bruit de train ou de route même s'ils sont juste à côté.
