Linville River Hotels

"I never leave reviews. I do a lot of solo traveling, and have stayed in many motels. I just need a clean bed and shower for the night. I booked for 2 nights since I was hiking in area. Room smelled like stale smoke so I asked for a different room, they had none available unless I wanted to pay $10 more for a different room.. they finally were able to “find” me one for same price of $100. for one night. The room was dirty, literally dirt on the walls. shower was unusable because of mold on shower head. Sheets didn’t fit on bed kept coming off mattress. Coffee maker had scum build-up in reservoir. Unusable. Microwave was missing a leg on bottom so I had to use a coffee packet to level it , wasn’t drinking it anyway. In all the places I’ve stayed, I’ve Never had such an experience And had 2 nights to deal with it… "

"Tranquility certainly lived up to its name as we felt so at peace in this beautiful mountain home. Everything was excellent: the cleanliness, decor, comfort, and of course the stunning mountain views! All our needs were met as the house was well stocked. Communication with Bill was exemplary as he got back to us immediately with answers to any questions. You can tell he loves his home by the way he cares for it and also cares very much that we, his clients, are happy and well taken care of. This is a rare and priceless combination which ensures a very positive experience indeed. We hope to be back again soon. Thank you and God Bless you Bill. Our souls and hearts were peaceful and restored after some very sad and shocking news from back home. Just sitting on the porch and viewing God’s creation while praying brought us much peace and courage to move forward. I have always felt a spiritual connection to the mountains and being here certainly confirmed that connection. Surely God is in this place. "

"Very convenient location for hiking in Linville Gorge. Spent most of the time out hiking and just used as a place to sleep and it served us well. "

"Our stay was excellent until literally the last moment. Check out was 11am. We left at 930am to grab a coffee and visit a couple of local shops. Returned back to the room at 10:53am and the cleaning lady was in our room with the door wide open. Our belongings were in the room and about 10 people who were in the parking lot obviously going into their rooms were right at our door. Initially, we had wanted to go back in and freshen up, grab our things and check out. I questioned the young lady and she said “I hope you’re not mad”. Uh really?? Grabbing our things and leaving without getting to freshen up and check any we may have in the room, we inadvertently left food in the fridge that we had definitely wanted to take with us. I will rethink my decision to stay here again. "
