The emphasis here should be on the HOSTEL in the name. For for a youth hostel it was pleasant. I had 2 twin rooms with baths. You could hear everything through the thin walls and, since it was May, with windows open (no A/C) we also heard everything in the hostel's outside courtyard bar. The staff were lovely, extra points there, but the photos on the booking site are the very nicest angles and don't reflect the overall state, which for a hostel is pretty good, but not very good for a hotel.

The room was great, the personnel were great and it has a lot of commune areas to cook and chill around. It also gives the opportunity to store your luggage before checking in and after checking out, which makes visiting the city much easier. The only problem was that the walls are very thin and you hear everything that happens everywhere. All in all it was a great experience!

okay hotel

the shower didn't have a door so I you made the shower go too hard it leaked all over the floor,the bed was nice though. the door was a little hard to unlock, but there was a bar which was a nice addition. Staff were nice though, though for entertainment there was no t.v, and the toilet didn't have a button, it was just a stick that you had to painfully pushdown. Overall it wasn't that bad, but there are way better places near by.

It was good for the price. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room did not match the pictures. Bed was a little basic. Shower was great though! Elevator could not hold two people and luggage.

This is an affordable option for families and individuals looking for a great location and safe accommodations in an area that is walkable to sight seeing and metro stops. We rented the family suite which was perfect for us and had just what we needed for cooking and comfort and layout. The hostel common areas are well managed and clean. There’s a lovely breakfast offered and lounge areas and the staff is very friendly and competent. Our personal apartment had some things that were not working properly (oven and fridge) and it had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. There was some mustiness and mold evident in the kitchen and bathroom that we were able to address ourselves for a comfortable stay.

Exceptional

The staff were exceptional, the owner was there hands on creating an epic memorable experience. The location was near transportation food etc. very clean and incredibly accommodating. I highly recommend Castilho 63 to anyone coming to Lisbon
