We had a wonderful stay as a couple with teenage daughter. The sofa bed was so comfortable and the apartment was so clean, light and airy. It was quiet at night and a perfect location for exploring Lisbon. João was an excellent host and very responsive.

Tolle Wohnung in super Lage

Die Wohnung liegt zentral in Alfama. Lissabon Stadt erreicht man problemlos zu Fuß. Toller Ausblick, perfekt für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder. Super freundlicher Vermieter.

Perfect location

There was some miscommunication on my end regarding checking in. But João was amazing and made it work in record time. The location is perfect for staying in Alfama. Within walking distance if not only food and markets, but almost every landmark you’d want to see in Lisbon. The bedroom is like a cave and I’ve never slept so well while traveling. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Alfama, look no further.

Parfait!

L'appartement est très joli et confortable, et la localisation est tout bonnement parfaite. Au coeur de l'alfama, à proximité immédiate des tramways, bus et même métro. Vue sur le Tage et au calme dans une petite ruelle. Un petit resto à 30m à recommander: TiaHelena (pensez à réserver, possible en ligne par Google); pas cher, délicieux et personnel très aimable). Joao est un hôte de rêve; il nous a parfaitement accueilli avec gentillesse et patience; de plus, il parle très bien français! Nous recommandons absolument cette location!

Wir (Mutter 57 J. und Tochter 21 J.)wurden herzlich begrüßt und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Kurzer steiler Weg zur Unterkunft über enge Gassen mit Stufen. Kommen gerne wieder.

Tolle Ferienwohnung in perfekter Lage!

Wir haben uns in der hübschen Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt und haben die Nähe zu den vielen Pastelerias, Minimärkten und dem wunderbaren Aussichtspunkt Portas do Sol sehr genossen. Die Kommunikation mit Joao lief sehr gut und unkompliziert.

Always in love with Alfama

Alfama is so enchanting and definitely electric during the evenings of June (read: much late night street noise due to the celebrations of Ste. Anthony). The balcony provided a lovely view of a pedestrian only street and the neighborhood streamers. My teenaged daughters were quite comfortable on the sofa bed as I was in the bedroom. Basic amenities were provided including linens and soaps for body and laundry. The washing machine was necessary for our week long stay as we travel quite light, but we had to get creative with drying as the apartment is not equipped with an clothes line outside the balcony (as is typical in Alfama) or a drying rack. I would suggest to the owner an electric fan or two to move the humid air and to help block out street and apartment noise, a new carpet in the living area (although a nice touch, the current carpet is too dingy to be appealing), and a more thorough check of bed covers - I washed a duvet cover myself as it was visibly dirty. Although not expected, a Nespresso machine and basic pantry items would be lovely touches as well. Those not familiar with Alfama should learn that there are many stairs and hills throughout the neighborhood and that the market is located in Apolonia Station. Planning on returning to Alfama, I would definitely book João’s apartment again.

A great place to experience old Lisbon

Our host was extremely helpful when airline delays caused us to arrive well after midnight. The apartment is located on a quieter passage in an Alfama district made busy by a month long festival, and has a charming view of the old quarter. It is well-equipped, with good public transport options within a few minutes walk at both the top and bottom of the hill. It's a good place to experience life in Lisbon.

Great location, great host!

Our host was great. The Alfama district, where the condo is located, can be confusing, but our host gave us perfect directions to find it. The location of the condo provided a perfect launching point to get to many great restaurants and points of interest. The condo itself was perfect. The bedroom was quiet and dark, so you can catch up on sleep and recharge for the next day. Everything was clean and in good working order. When I return to Lisbon, this will be the place I stay, if available. Chhers!

Wunderschöne Wohnung in der historischen Altstadt von Lissabon

Die Wohnung ist wunderschön gelegen in der Altstadt von Lissabon. Hinter dem schmalen Haus in einer engen Gasse verbirgt sich ein wirkliches Juwel. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll restauriert mit Dielenboden und moderner Ausstattung sowie einem sehr schönen Badezimmer. Das Schlafzimmer liegt nach hinten und ist absolut ruhig. Das Wohnzimmer ist erstaunlich groß und stilvoll ausgestattet. Die Lage ist absolut zentral, aber wegen des fehlenden Autoverkehrs trotzdem sehr ruhig und idyllisch. Joao ist ein toller Gastgeber, der uns direkt in der Wohnung empfangen hat. Er spricht sehr gut Englisch, was die Verständigung sehr einfach macht. Vor und während des Aufenthalts ist er für alle Fragen erreichbar und hilft gerne weiter. Wir können die Wohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen (natürlich ist es in dieser Lage nicht barrierefrei aufgrund der steilen Straßen und engen Treppen) und würden keine Sekunde zögern, die Wohnung noch einmal zu buchen, wenn wir nach Lissabon kommen.
