"Our stay was great. The location is awesome and there are plenty of hikes and beaches to explore a short drive or bike ride from the grounds. Businesses out there in Big Sur have been in for a ride with all those Hwy 1 closures and the little issues they have stem from that - uncontrollable situation; They still do a good job. If you are snack addicts, go to the small convenience store by the gas station and be prepared to spend a lot of money. Top #3 key lime pie I have ever had is located here... Don't miss it!"

"We had reservations for Sands by the Sea. The rooms we were given had dirty old rugs smiled and had spider webs. We were then moved to the Caviler next door who are affiliated with Sands. They were very accommodating the Caviler was clean great views a nice restaurant next door. Would recommend. Sands needs to be refurnished. It is a great location "
