A very good location next to the underground line. Easy access from Paddington and close to my purpose for the visit. Checking in was easy, the staff very welcoming.
The room was compact but manageable. It was clean and the bed comfortable. The room was also in the basement. I got there at about PM so it should be light outside, went to open the window to be confronted by a wall and a ladder - a ladder to nowhere!
I couldn't see anything in this dark non-space but a flash-lit photograph revealed an air conditioning unit and door high up on the wall. Presumably, the ladder allows one to access the door. Where does the door go? I assume it's a portal to another dimension. Some guests might worry about such a space, that sinister creatures lurk there, but I was okay about it.
Downsides? Not many (unless you want a view). The shower head refused to stay in a chosen position, slipping down, the locking mechanism broken. The water bottle in the corridor was empty so I had to go out into the streets of Shepherd's Bush late at night to buy a bottle.
That's it - clean, good value, great location if you need to be in central Shepherd's Bush.
